I just started playing EQ2 approximately a month ago. And at level 49 I was looking to into doing a respec on the achievement trees taking in consideration of my play style. I rarely if ever group, eventually I will raid when I reach 70 or so. But in the meantime I need to adjust my aa's so I can play my wizard in a solo capacity. I currently have 55 aa points, and was curious how should I have spent them to be the most effective as a solo wizard. And need advice on how I should spend future points. I also noticed most of the information on this board is geared towards wizards who are already at 70 and raiding. And advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Marasai Level 49 Wizard of Nektulos

Good question. General consensus is that you will have a hard time making the "wrong" decision. I have done(am doing) a lot of solo. I soloed heavily from 30+ to now 65.

In the 30-55 range, I found that the STA / AGI line is a good combo. I want to say that I respec'd out of that at 55 and moved to AGI / Wis before tinkering with STR / WIS and ultimately going back to AGI / WIS. I found STA to lose some of its worth when the mobs in that range started poking me harder.

The Magi Shielding ward was certainly handy, but again about 55 I opted out of it for the Power line and Manaburn.

I'm currently sitting at 83ish AA: AGI / WIS with manaburn and everything else in the ice line. I guess my opinion is that its hard to go wrong. The things you probably wouldn't find a lot of benefit from the INT line or the fire line on the EoF page. Everything else is beneficial to the soloer. If you are comfortable taking a couple whacks, then go STA with the wards from EoF. Its feasible. If you are more comfortable with the rooting method, then go for the AGI and WIS.

Manaburn is fun, even after the nerf... although I think a valid argument can be made to just go ice and be done with it.

/agree

It is hard to make a "wrong" decision as so many of the lines work together so nicely. Your success varies only based on your choosing the best strategy for the particular build you have. Albiet, some combos are more effective in certain niches of game play.

Yep, only real advice to give is to not bother with the Int line, as aggro control is useless while soloing. Str, Agi, and Wis all work to increase your damage output, so you'll definitely want to focus in on at least one of the lines. The Sta line is essentially made for soloing, so it's another possibility. It'll increase your defenses, and thus make you somewhat less dependent on root. Looking at our subclass AAs, Magi's Shielding is another useful defensive choice. The Fire and Ice lines are both good I think, and it's a good idea to put points into at least one of those. There's also the Power line, which ends with Manaburn; some people like it, some people don't. I haven't tried it out personally yet, so I can't really give an opinion on how useful it is.
