View Full Version : Splitpaw (Harclave) vs. Conjuror

I have a couple of characters that I play. Monk, Paladin and Conjuror. I have done Harclave with both melee classes but I am thinking my Conjuror would be horribly trashed in there. Do our pets get the Harclave buff? At level 20 I don't have enough AoE to live through some of those bigger packs.. at least that is my guess. Any advice before I head in there this weekend?

pets do not get the buff... it ends up that you are going to have to be taking the damage there. I have survived pretty deep in there, but I keep dying when I get to a certain part.

The best advice I can give a conj is to gain agro first on yourself...and use the scout pet (good dmg, single target) to dmg one mob at a time as you go.

If you can pump out enough damage, not have your pet get agro and die (why I would say avoid the mage pet), and not get too many adds....you should be ok.

If you posses the pet just prior to getting the buff, does the pet get the buff then... I wonder?

Unfortunately certain classes get sort of hosed with Harclaves (and even the 3rd Trial to some extent) I did harclaves with my Swash probably 50 times, but when I tried it with my templar it was so painful, I only did it the one time. I just had to keep healing myself while the mobs died on the damage shield you get. You just need to be very careful when pulling. You can actually do harclaves in 10 minutes by using invis through it and only have to kill a couple of mobs, just need to be careful when pulling the tree guy, then you can invis to the skeleton at the end and avoid all the other mobs. Back before they changed it, it was worth killing everything in there, but since then you only get a tiny amount of exp by killing the mobs so it is best just to blow through it once per level until mid 50's.

Callus

did it with a necro and an inq the inq did very well, it was quite hard with the necro but i succeeded , also because of lifetaps, i imagine it would be even harder as a conj, and you'd have to be very careful how and what you pull. the pet doesn't get the buff, you can have it summoned and get the buff, it doesn't matter. you also don't have to fight all the way through, use your invis to avoid the first few fights. something that might help, enter when you're close to levelup, you'll have it easier regarding resisted spells. also, bodypull ftw.

I did it with my illusionist(granted it's slightly differant then Conj) but as long as I only pulled one group at a time if I "tanked" for my pet the harclave buff kept me up while my pet and I shared the killing. I would say the same would work for Conj. You see with Mages the Harclave buff includes a VERY nice heal, instead of the Damage Shield you get as a melee class.

I finally got around to doing the Splitpaw quest with me 24 conjurer and man is it rough. I've easily done the zone with my monk, SK, fury and necro, but my conj wipes in the final Harclave boss fight despite having Master I pet (question: Has the final boss always been three levels about you?).

I've done Harclaves with my Conj every level from 20-75 now- never had a problem whatsoever-Pet doesnt get the buffuse tank petlet pet get agromelee and cast spells, keep pet aliveI also did harclaves from about 25 to 65 with a templar, now that was a nightmare

Ah, but have you done the conjurer at a low level recently? The pet dies quicker than I can heal (only get 200 per cast currently) and once it's gone ..well... I soon follow suit.

I just did it with my monk and it seems significanly more difficult than before (either that or the regen is bugged like it was there for a while back). I know they've dont something to it recently cause invis now drops when you light the fires.

Myself and 2 guildies were doing this at the same time (we did trial 1 and 2 together also). The others were a wizard and a conjuror. Of the 3 of us, I finished first, with more than 5 minutes to spare. So, at least in my experience, conjurors do just fine in trial 3

I was even using my mage pet, not scout or tank pet, using BA and EV the whole time, so it wasn't like I made the pet go easy. Just have to nuke a lot to keep up with his aggro.

I had done splitpaw on all of my characters when they hit lvl 20...so that would be Fury, Ranger, Dirge, Templar, Conjorer, Paladin, Guardian, Wizard, Illusionist, Monk...i think thats all of them.I had most difficulty with Ranger and Conj iirc. For the Conj I ended up using mage pet and tanked it myself. AoE like crazy and use auto attack.
