<p>Am I missing something on how to spawn this guy, or does he just have a ridiculous respawn time for a level 20 quest mob?  The only comments I've found pretty much are from people saying they don't know how he spawned or they'd been killing for an hour and he just showed up.</p><p>If this guy is over an hour for a level 20 newbie quest, this really outta be fixed.</p>

I finally got him but I agree this is a long spawn rate for a level 20 quest.

<p>Until I got to that step, I had no idea what all those people were doing standing there by the rocks.   Almost always a few standing there, studiously ignoring each other, and whatever mobs were roaming around.</p><p>I got lucky though....when I needed good ol' Taril, I walked up, there he was, and no campers around.  </p>

When I was trying to do this quest, I found a comment on <a href="http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?eq2mob=10330" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Allakhazam</a> that the "Enraged Dwarven Briarstone" might be a placeholder. I've done this quest twice now, the first time he popped instantly, second time I had to kill the Dwarf 3 times before he popped.

He seems to be a time of day spawn.  He popped exactly at 12 a.m. game time.

I sat there for two game days waiting for him to spawn, and I can confirm that he does NOT automatically spawn at 12am game time.  After waiting for nearly two hours, I noticed the post on Allakhazams that Captain Xpendable mentions.  I started killing the Enraged Dwarven Briarstone mob, which is very close, and right after the third kill, Taril spawned.  It might be coincidence, but it's worth trying.

I've done this quest again since I posted. He was up while I was finishing the quest right before it, but was killed before I could get to him. I spent the next hour killing the E.D.B. and other mobs around before he popped. I still think the Dwarf is a placeholder, but I also think he has a minimum spawn time of one hour. Much to long in my opinion.
