I recently rolled a Swashy and am just looking for some AA advice and tips. I know nothing of the scout class.. So if I sound like a idiot, I do apologize.

What I do know:

I've seen a lot of people talking about Strength/Wisdom and Agility/Wisdom for DPS. I was advised that if I plan on using a one-handed weapon to go down Strength, and if I was going to dual-wield to go for Agility. I will be looking to DPS primarily. Which of the two is better? Is there even a better one? Why do some people choose one over the other?

What would be good for EoF AA's with either set up?

I do know that some changes are coming, and if you all have any input with those changes coming up, I'm all ears.

Any advice/info is good info. Thanks.

....you don't sound stupid at all....your questions go to the heart of a dps Swashbuckler!

....there are some significant changes coming along regarding 1H and DW weapons which will also significantly alter our AA choices; this is because many of our AA specs depend upon leaving our offhand empty and also heavily depend upon having a high-end 1H (clearcutter machete, SoD, etc.)!

...for now, if you have a high-end 1H, most spec str/wis!

...for now, lower level Swash and/or without a high-end 1H, most spec str/agi!

...the weapons change is supposedly coming along in LU38 (.....or later, so don't hold you breath...lol), which will change the whole 1H and DW designations on our weapons....hence the confusion on what will the post LU38 AA choices for dps Swashies.

As to the EoF AA's.....ask two Swashies and you'll get three different answers....lol

...personally I'm headed down Potency and Style....but many like Reach and Style!

Good Luck with ya choices!

(btw you can always try out a set up, parse it, then change it if you need to)

One thing if you are going with the Wisdom line and using a one hand, it isn't worth doing until you can put 8 points into Unencumbrance, until then your damage will be less than Duel Wield. I currently do Str/Wis and use the Qeynos Kilij as the one hand weapon. I will have to see what happens with the Duel wield changes if it will be worth respecing. On the Swashbuckler tree I have potency and Debuffs which I chose for raiding, but I am unsure exactly how much our stat debuffs actually help and also put 5 points into Enhance Inspiration.

In the end I don't think there is but a few percentage points difference between Str/Wis and Str/Agil. I two box a lot with my Templar so Wisdom makes more sense for me since I am tanking a lot with my swashy and the Lunge Reversal and Freehand Reversal with the extra riposte percentage helps me more than Agility would since you need position for Avast Ye proc.

Callus

just advice for the last poster try sailwind with the kilij you should notice a big difference in your dps as your combat art spaming should become much more flawless as opposed to making your autoattack get delayed for your spam.
