I've been hearing alot about high necromancer dps, is this only due to Life Burn, or can necromancers top parses without it?

Yes we can top parses without it but it is more and more difficult if you raid or play with other DPS classes well geared/mastered and know how to maximize their DPS.

In a heavy AE raid encounter, without LB, I typically hit about 2350 dps. My highest DPS so far on a group encounter was against a pack of brownies in EH, where I hit 3300, but there was a wizard in my group that cast Frgid Gift in the beginning, and both myself and my warlock pet took excellent advantage the moment he landed it on us.

In a single target raid encounter, without LB, I'm prolly sitting at about 1850 average. When I had LB, so long as the single target mob didnt have millions of hit points, I hit 2800-3K regularly. But it's not like that was every encounter.

I rarely have a troub or wizzie in my group, but I do always get Time Compression. I get very little lovins groupwise. No Props happy warlocks. No dirges. It's more like a leftovers group actually But I do have some really good gear. Whenever I post on the boards, I don't exaggerate my numbers. They are a realistic average of what I hit. For all I know, my numbers blow. I wouldn't know if I'm any good because I never have another raid necro around to compare myself against. I always wonder why that is considering how much I love the class.

It may be atypical, but the Guardian in my guild, and most of the time the berserker as well, were able to maintain hate against the target while I was lifeburning. I would hover my cursor over the FD button with the mob targetted just in case, but I rarely had to use it.

I rarely grab agro with LB. It is all about your timing and the agro make up of the MT group.

Also if you have a good LB healer, we usually have a fury, you don't get to the point where you hit 1 hps.

When in raids or groups when would you use LB?? From most of the other threads it seems as though you would grab aggro pretty quickly after using it. But as of late have heard a few say they never get aggro.

Lifeburn is definitely not needed to attain high dps, but certainly adds to it. And while it's an ability bestowed upon us it should be abused...lol. With hate changes it's now very easy to lifeburn and still keep casting normal spell order without worry of mobs turning, mem wiping mobs are a little different story tho, but I have lifeburned the grovebeast down from the Wuoshi encounter with no trouble at all.

Indeed, u shouldn't grab aggro most of the time with LB, on trash i start at 50% actually, and it barely ends at 2% or so, on bosses, yes, 30% is good.

It's a 5min recast, which isn't that long actually, i find myself casting it a lot in the end, if u have a Troub that would be perfect, just time it with JC and u'll get to recast it in 3:20 mins.

On Encounters, i cast UT, then AoE, wait for the last mob in the encounter, and as soon as the tank switches to that i cast LB, the mob should be at 50% and the tank has built a lot of hate on it already by the time he switches to it, or just LB on a mob that has 50%, but not the first one.

Also, it's not that hard to FD if u're at max range, if u don't lag, by the time u see the mob lose target of ur Tank, and u hitting the FD button should be just by its feet, i never die from LB unless i'm slacking , actually, Necros shouldn't die at all unless AoEed 0.o!

Forget about DPS numbers they are always skewed depending on what classes are in your groups... hell throw an illusionist and a trouby in my group and watch me hit 4k.

The bottom line is you don't need lb to top the dps parse. Know how to play the class, get masters and procing equipment you will never be less than #3 on the list and will be #1 at least 3/4 of the time. Zone-wide I have been #1 on every single raid, yes this is with LB but i don't LB every mob. I've looked at the numbers and LB only counts for 7-8% of my raid-wide SUSTAINED DPS.

Also make a macro:

/t Mystic Lifeburn Inc 10seconds, Bolster Please.

/t Druid Lifeburn Inc 10seconds, Heal My [Removed for Content], Keep My HP Up!

/t Troubador Lifeburn Inc 10seconds, Jesters Cap Please.
