SOE has to update their network status page

Dear SOE, I am troubled to find after participating with your games for many years, you still cannot keep your customer base up to date. Before logging on, I went to the website and found nothing stating that there would be a patch. At 7AM PST the servers are going down. I find this disturbing because I am sure that the majority of your work force knew this was going to happen before they went home last night. How hard is it to designate someone, anyone, to stick a post up saying that its going to happen. Hech, call me and I will do it for free!. Its really not that hard.

On Tuesday it said 2 hours.. then 3 hours.. then 4.. then 7 then they settled in 9.. though it was definately almost 11 hours.  Then they said they were extending it on Tuesday so it won't be down anotehr day this week.  It's 2 days later.. nothing on the Network Status page and BOOM game does down.  What's up???</p><p>If SOE is NOT going to use the Network status page for updates. PLEASE use the correct link!  I don't care if it's going down.. It's an online game.. I know it goes down.. just let me know before I get in the middle of something and UPDATE YOUR PAGE YOU LINK!</p>

I got a different message indicating it was going to be a brief update. What's this update? I checked the announcement forums and didn't see anything on it.

I have never actually seen that page list the correct status of the servers. It just about always says that all servers are up, even when obviously they are not. Not sure what the purpose of that page is.

<p>Tirips, I agree 110%, been playig SOE games since 2001 (on and off) and never have they been better than they are now about communicating the server status. I've made the same argument that you have about someone knowing, its 7am that your bringing them down? someones gonna be coming in early.</p><p>I'm on EST so this is 10am, lucky me, another day off, servers were down for 10hrs on my other day off, so i'm safe to do all my chores before settling in, at 10am, to find servers down...  /rampage</p><p> So, in conclusion, /rude SOE (not cause i dont like ya, but cause sometimes your a [Removed for Content])</p><p>Avilen Desparus - 65 Maestro - Xev(Deceased)</p>

A note on the non-updated status (whats the plural for that word, statuses?) what about the chatroom from the launchpad, always says that all servers are up...

I went to 4 different pages.. does it say ANYWHERE that we were going down today?  Outside of the announcement in game.. Did they screw up again?  It has happened where the computer automatically took down the servers...

The page has gone from down, to up but locked .. so I'm sure it'll be soon. Oh look, now they are up .. there was never any downtime.  Just look at the network status page!

So can we get a reply from the Admin's as to why they don't properly update the Network Status page when in the messages that explain why the game goes down .... it says to go TO this page?

Devs and mods and even SoE will never answer questions that are directly asked of them. I can see why, because the minute they do they will get inundated with question after question because they <b>*answered</b>* a direct question. I agree, them having a status page that is up to date, or even better. In eq1 we had a website that was 3rd party was dedicated to telling us if servers where up or down. But with EQ2 they made it impossible.

True.. but the status page was updated just today.. so when I wanted to log in first.. it was around 9:30 am.. and I saw that the game was going down.. so I decided to do something else <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  So.. better?  Though I'm now reading there was no in game announcement..

I see a bunch of "server down" messages and NOTHING in the details explaining what is going on.  Apparently today they managed to mention to people IN game what's going on but nothing for the outside people who log in around this time....</p><p> Any news yet as to whether or not they are going to address this problem?</p>
