My friend wants to play this game so we installed it on his comp. To see if it worked i tried to log onto my account and everything is good until u click play, then the game acts like it will start the game and the mouse even changes to the eq mouse but then it just goes to the desktop without even an error msg. He meets the requirments of the game but just barely. Any suggestions?

To add on to this, I've been playing EQ2 now for going on 2 years. After the recent update with LoN, I've not been able to log in fully, I get all the load up screens the mouse changes appropriately but the game does not fully load, just sits on the load screens and then closes also with no error message. (Comp info: XP, 256 mb ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, 2.8 GHz pentium, 3 gig of ram, 160 gig hd)

Make sure you have the latest version of directx installed. What you desriced is exactly what happens when it is not installed. Windows update will not update directx it needs to be done manualy. I'm assuming that you are using xp?

So *chuckles* any other suggestions? I'm more then happy to hear them, before i have to worry about withdrawal.

Finally just decided to uninstall the entire game and start from scratch, and so far that seems to have fixed it.
