View Full Version : Audio cracks and pops in Darklight Wood

<p>Greetings,</p><p>I made my journey from Freeport to Neriak to check out the new city. As soon as I crossed through to Darklight Wood, my audio started crackling and popping. This so far only happens in this zone, regardless of where I am.</p><p>My specs:</p><p>CPU: Intel P4 3.2, hyperthreaded (system sees it as 2 CPUs)</p><p>RAM: 1GB</p><p>GPU: nVidia 7800 GS (512 MB)</p><p>OS: XP Professional</p><p>DirectX: DX 9.0c (with the August 2007 update)</p><p>Audio: Soundblaster Audigy X-FI</p><p>Note: I uninstalled my DirectX SDK so all my DX drivers are "Final Retail" which are faster than the developer version because they don't contain debug information. I really don't think it's my system though since no other zone causes this problem.</p>

I have the same problem.  I've read of others having the same issues (all Creative cards).  There is not a solution as far as I'm aware. This is most noticeable either underwater in DL, or over near the wisps at the Common Lands zone line.

Yep I've been having to use "miles fast 2d positional" for moths now on my machine because *any* other setting causes clicks pops and distortion on my X-fi. My three main complaints about EQ2 right now are this, disappearing shadows and the fact that I can't have a frickin' torch and two charms at the same time.

It does happen anywhere in the zone but it seems almost unbearable at the Commonlands zone-in point.
