View Full Version : Name of a Sarnak
Talked to a fellow lore person about this since I like giving good names to my characters and thought I would bring it here incase there are others asking the same questions. What exactly makes a name particular for a race let alone a good name for a Sarnak? Also do certain names with certain letterings carry prestige and weight to them?

<p>I really can't answer your questions but I can do a little in giving you a sarnak naming guide. Just scroll down until you see a dev post. Basically all names seems to consist of a first part followed by a gender specific second part. Example is Daarzakla in which Daar is the prefix and Zakla is the female gender suffix. A full name would be Daarzakla Nibi`mok.</p><p><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=376335" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=376335</a> </p>

Not sure, but I could swear the DEs do it with the way their names are arranged.

this is a much tougher question to answer and is different for all people a name should holed with it the esense of the character not nessisaryly thier race all i can relate this to is how i found my name....... i was in school doing some stupid word search puzzle and i had just gotten eq2 but hadnt gotten it working yet so you know how you sometimes find words that arent intended to be placed in a word search puzzle...as my eyes glanced over the name i new it was right i knew it was my name...just by the sound you could feel the strength and power behind it so this is the story of my name sort of elaborate for a video game? all you need to do is find a word that holds power and a sort of essesnce of your own person that is what will make the name great, and it is not what other people think of the name that matters it is your own perspective your own vision that will shape this character if you chose to envelope your self in this person Drager

I say just name your character and YOU decide how your character should be. I plan on re-rolling Cusashorn into a Sarnak, since the name is perfect for the race. Cusashorn will still be just an alt character that I'll rarely play as though.

<p>I gues you are talking about this regarding teir'dal:</p><p>There are some Surnames that are never preceded by a Provincial Designate. Those surnames are known as Liege Names. These Liege Names are the oldest surnames from the dawn of Teir'Dal history and demand respect by any Teir'Dal with the typical Provincial Designate surname. The Liege Names members are of pureblood and are forbidden to mate with anyone that does not bear the same Liege Name. Names such as Punox and Thex are two of these ancient Teir'Dal Liege surnames. </p><p>as for sarnaks.. i don't think they have such names, isn't the playable sarnak breed just 50 years old? doubt they have somethin like nobility.</p>

<a href="http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?zone=78" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Here</a> are some of the names from Chardok where there was a royal family. Maybe these will give you some ideas. Scroll down near the bottom where all the "named" mobs are found (starting with Arch Inspector Nibi'Zi). The Overking Bathezid, Queen Velazul Di'zok, and Prince Selrach Di'zok were the royal family there. Hope this helps you out some. Edit :Helps if I actually add in the link

I'm curious if Droags do that with different titles per their profession.

<p>I have two iksar (That are the same person, in-character) named Sohbec and Sohbek (Sohbek being the proper spelling). I'm thinking that when I roll a sarnak, I will name him wither Sohbeck or Sobek, and explain it as mere coincidence. Might have him be a student of Sohbek.</p><p>As a friend of mine says... "Dude. You have an iksar bruiser and you're gonna have a sarnak monk. Now you're just splitting hairs."</p>
<p>I'm still trying to decide on a name for my sarnak since there are some variables in there both personal and lore wise. Looking to find a name that best fits a Sarnak Guardian and i'm probably gonna start him off as a zerker then betray him to guardian. </p><p>Have a bit of a story worked up, but the thing of it all is the blasted name. <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/136dd33cba83140c7ce38db096d05aed.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p>

<p>Why would they deny a new race a chance to go to Haven and exile like everyone else?</p><p>*thinks back to EoF and how happy everyone was being forced to be a good class Fae*</p><p>.... good point. Sarnak's shouldn't be allowed to betray. /evil</p>
