Well, I got this nasty feeling when I read the update notes yesterday, but I tried it out just yet. My lvl 33 SK hunted the rusted armbraces for my lvl 70 quester. It dropped pretty soon. Logged in with the mystic, but after the 5 minutes restriction time the chest went POOF! CRY!! Why!!!????

*groan* I am liking this change less and less. Sorry to hear the chest popped and I agree with your frustration. But not only does it mean that a person like you can't use a lower level to farm for a chest-dropped quest starter, but it also mean that if a person is hunting in a zone and is getting a quest starter they already have, they can't just let the chest stand and let someone else (random person) have it. Silly change, silly.

It's starting to look more and more like I'm going to have to convince my wife to let me reactivate my second account.

If she leaves me, can I sue Sony for the alimony?

Do far seas reqs go poof? Since they are repeatable I would hope not.

Seriously, with all the people that have been asking to make quest starters body drops or more accessible in another way i don't get why we need to make it harder to get them now. Let's open up the questing, SOE! make writs below your level shareable as well.

peace

I am getting the feeling sony is greedy and they just want every serious quester to need 2 accounts.

I honestly do not understand the point of this change. It used to be that if you got a quest you didn't need as a drop you could /yell about it so that someone else who needed it could loot it. This created collegiality among players.

I'm guessing SoE wanted to stop ppl farming the starters and selling them on Broker (Lightstone starter item I've seen often on broker)

I guess it falls in the same category of dumbing down questing like the massacre they did with the suburb quests. They simply deleted dozens if not hundreds of quests for no good reason After all it is Everquest and not Everletsmakethisgamesuitableforthreeyearolds

Yeah... I never really understood why they got rid of the suburb quests. I mean, you have a fully functional quest that adds content and atmosphere to a zone, and you delete it so all the NPC's stand around looking like they have a purpose in life (which they don't). I'm glad I started playing EQ2 early enough that I was able to do those quests while they were still in the game. Now if only I could be these training tomes to work......
