I have upgraded to Dell 3007 wfp-hc from apple 20" screen. I had no problem no matter in full screen or window mode playing everquest2 with my new rig on apple 20" screen. However, after upgrading to Dell 3007, my mouse is out of control in window mode. It moved to the upper left corner automatically. Though, I don't have this problem in full screen mode. It's really weird. Please let me know if any similar problem was reported and any idea to fix it, thank you.

I have seen that happen before but not specifically in EQ2. Only time I have seen it was when trying to hook up a switch where I could use 1 mouse/keyboard to 2 computers. Are you attempting to do the same?

No, I didn't. I didn't use any KVM switch. The keyboard and mouse are connected to computer. I have tried different mouses and the same situation.

Might be a Dell thing, My XPS is doing the same thing. Running Vista, EQ2 is the only game it seems to happen in.

I've tried:

Running as Administrator (set all the exe)

Running in XP mode

Microsoft Application Compatibility Tool ver 5

Updating touchpad drivers.

Updating Video drivers

Disabiling touchpad and using USB mouse

Swearing at the computer

The mouse works through the update, and rushes to the upper left corner at the char select or loading screen, and keeps returning to there.

If anyone finds the fix, please share.

Any special software for that mouse?I have heard of issues with keyboards having issues in windowed versus full screen mode, but not a mouse yet.

I've had this same problem since I bought a new system with Vista installed on it back in Nov '07.

It's a major hassle, too! When I try to kick out to Windows mode to check something on the web, my EQ2 screen is smaller, but still visible. The mouse cursor is inside the EQ2 screen. When I try to move the cusor, it immediately flees to the upper left corner of the main screen. If I try to move it, it will respond momentarily, then immediately return to the upper left corner.

I stopped playing EQ2 for a few months, and have only returned in the past few days. But I remember there was something I could do to free the mouse cursor up way back when.... I just can't remember what it was!! There was some combination of keystrokes that would free it up. I had this happen just a few minutes ago, but I couldn't remember what I used to do to get it under control, so I thought I would check here to see if there was a fix, or if anyone had reported how to correct it.

I will keep trying, and report back if I figureit out.

oh..btw...I have a Gateway, so I don't think it's just a Dell thing.

Got it!

On my machine, the alt/tab combination works to minimize the EQ2 screen which restores mouse control. When I hit alt/tab, I see all the windows I have open, plus the desktop. I chose the desktop icon. This minimizes EQ2, and the mouse works properly. If I go back to the EQ2 screen, mouse control is lost, and it returns to the upper left corner.

Very strange bug!

If you're not running Vista, you might try having your browser or some other window open in the background so you have something to switch to using alt/tab.

Hope this helps...

I'm having this same issue and i've posted about in several forums. Sure, my mouse works properly when eq2 is minimized, but that is not the intended functionality. This needs to be resolved.
