If you were to have a top (3) three item wish list that would either improve or make your guardian a better tanking class what would it be and why? Be descriptive in your answers and provide solid conclusions for your suggestions.

I would be interested to hear what folks would say for a wish list. Even more interesting if SONY would give great consideration or weight to your comments, recomendations and explanations in addressing your concerns for our class.

It is my hope that SOE would listen to your concerns regarding our class and take that into consideration before the next expansion in November. I will try and follow up with a POLL to show you what were the top results of all those responded.

Wish Well....

Tristin - Guild Leader Advocatus Diaboli - Everfrost Server

1. Make mitigation really 'worth something' again so armor upgrades are meaningful. As it is not, there is not any noticeable benefit to most gear upgrades unless they have a proc or HP on them. 2. Change the EOF AA end skills to something more ... useful ... really only double attack is useful right now and it's only 9% =/ The AGI end line is very nice. The Block AA is not so useful. These really could have been looked at more. 3. How about some EOF AAs related to increasing taunts or aggression or our proc taunt line or HP or STA or anything related to the main jobs of a tank (hold agro and dont die). I like the dps increasers and I do like the timer reductions on the reinforce and rescue, but it's just not much compared to the nice improvements some classes received =/ Now if they changed mitigation back or modified it some, the mitigation skills we have might be useful again. Then those AAs related to them would also be useful.

1) Make hate worth something. At the moment generation of pure hate is pretty much worthless at the moment (DPS > all for aggro) change the 1 point of damage == 1 point of hate or up our taunts and the raw hate on hate procs. Oh and while I'm on it make our taunts unresistable. 2) Make defensive stances worth something (for tanks). How many tanks these days are tanking in defensive stance? And I don't mean during pull inital debuffs - I mean actually tanking a whole fight in it. Again this is related to 1) (above) but offensive stance should not be the stance of choice for tanking. 3) Make mitigation and avoidance mean something/raid progression. I know why it means nothing at the moment but given a context of actual raid progression it can be meaningful and at the same time in general not create the level of disparity we had EQ1. We need raid zones that progress forward (not flat like we seem to have in eq2) beating one zone so we can access the next zone where mobs are tougher and hit so much harder.

1) Give a new AA option to make Sentry Watch and/or Stone Sphere raid wide.

2) Modify our Offensive Stance to maybe give a proc, such as a +25 bonus to aggression for 15 seconds, or +15% hate gain for 10 seconds. Raw Str as it is, is easy to cap and mostly useless. If not modifications to our hate gaining abilities, make it a chance to automatically riposte the next incoming attack, symbolizing the extra defence a Guardian can summon, even when on the offensive.

3) A new, badass looking Guardian helm

Let's answer the OP first:

1) Improve mitigation efficiency. We already droped all Claymore rewards providing +144 mitig, we dropped def stance and those of us who can claim the leather boots from avatars also droped EoF plate boots. Does it sound right ?

2) Provide real armor progression. Yes, I got this bloody rumbler BP, I'm so happy... Next mob requires disease or poison resist ? Ok, let's switch back to doomrage. Hummm... Resists > Hps > Mitig. Does it sound right ?

3) Avoidance only affects auto attack, Epics CAs will hit close to 100%. Epic fights became unbalanced with full HP periods interrupted with substantial bursts. Parsed heals demonstrate all this: The MT group defiler is healing for 40%, the templar for 25% and the other 4 healers share the remaining 35%. Thanks to god, some mobs AE

From a gaming point of view, we are not playing any more, we are tuning our efficiency. I used to be a HO advocate, but I droped them a couple of months ago cause I couldn't stand to lower my dps waiting for the wheel to progress... We used to be full of defensive plate, we now fight like monks. We replaced our large shunk of tower for a patch of wood - we dare to call a shield - and we may even throw it away in short term future to use a DW instead... Does it sound right ? It's time to go back to the basics. I'm not saying I'm not happy with my dps. It has never been so high But was it intended to be my main role ?

All of these are great suggestions!

My biggest wish is that they would change the hate, so DPS wouldn't be king. Don't get me wrong, DPS will always need to generate a lot of hate. I'd just like to see alternate hate generation abilities. An AA line that increases the effctiveness of your taunts would be great.

Secondly, as a guardian I feel that we have strayed too far from being a defensive tank. Make some of the AA lines affect mostly defense. Right now most of the Warrior AA lines affect DPS with a few that affects defense (one of which is virtually useless (WIS)). An AA line that significantly increases our health, mit and avoidance but only while in defensive stance.

Perhaps Sony should look into making the AA lines do different abilities depending on what stance you are in? If you are in offensive stance the AA lines change to be more offensive. While in defensive stance they become more defensive in nature.

People have already stated some good ones, but one that I believe is key would be an AA line or some sort of achievement that gives the Guardian an increased chance to avoid being stunned or rooted. Even if it was just a sfew % points over others, I think this just makes sense and would be a great imporvement over having a heavily armed, but utterly dazed, speed-bump in the raid. It would also make the WIS line of AA more viable.

There's no need for any of these suggestions.

1. Alter mitigation so it's worth going after.

2. Maybe an AA option that affects taunts/resists

3. Make got your back not fighter only but any class.

1. Allow wizards and warlocks hate transfers to stack.

2. Make Migitation worth something again

3. Give me the ability to raise my Agression ability and have it actually reduce taunt resists.

It's a joke that you can tank a raid in leather (which I often do, because all the crit % gear is leather or chain), and in offensive stance. You get mit and resists to 5k buffed and you're done, under the current system. Anything more is pointless.

I'm actually asking for a nerf to survivability in leather, chain, and low-end plate. That's the only change the class needs.
