Since the prolonged downtime forces me to twiddle my thumbs I was going over the different info on the EQII website and came across something rather silly. In the Armor section they have Chain, Leather, Plate, Woven and Robes, which in itself is a bit odd since "Woven" does not exactly exist as a specific armor type. The other thing I noticed was the classes they listed as using these different types which did not quite correspond to how things actualy work. Stuff like Rogues wearing leather, and Assassins wearing woven. First of all, how stupid do they have to be to not have accurate (even remotely) information on the website. I mean sure, stuff like "No one realy knows the whereabouts of Lord Nagafen" I can let slip, but that whole armor thing was just silly. Secondly I have been wanting something like the concept on the website for ages. It's silly to have assassins running around in chain armor, both assassins and rangers should wear leather. IMHO bards should wear cloth (hehe, something like the EoF mage fabled sets). Although I would go even further. I don't realy like this "predator", "rogue" and so on business. I would give them more individuality, dirges should be able to wear chain, troubs cloth. Rangers might wear lether, but assassins should wear cloth for maximum stealth. Also when it comes to tanks there realy needs to be more variety in tanking style. I mean, a zerker is basically a guardian that does more AE dmg. My first character was a zerker, and I chose a zerker cause I wanted a plate DPS class, dual wielding his way through enemies or using a nice 2-hander, not some pansy using a shield (or worse still a frickin buckler) wearing bright red armor saying "Hey, look at me, I'm a tomatoe with horns, phear me and my mighty dinner plate!". Oh, and make brawlers able to tank, or just skip that approach and make them pure dps. If I had my way, zerkers, bruisers and shadowknights would be DPS, while guardians, monks and paladins would be tanks. Heck, if I had my way I would probably redo just about everything =^.^= But I'll keep playing my assassin contently as long as his armor at least looks like leather.

Oddly enough I was typing up a similar post about the misinformation on the eq2 website as it pertained to equipment when you posted this one. It is sad to think they can't list information correctly. I mean, it is only their own game.

As for your changes, they seem a bit odd, but your entitled to your opinion. I think going back and changing things like removing chain from assassins seems a bit rude to the people that play them. I mean some people think they should have them. And to remove them from those people for those that want to use leather and can already use leather seems a bit harsh. I'd rather see them add some benefit to make leather a more viable choice then excluding chain.

And about your comment about brawlers being unable to tank, or at least you mentioning that you wish they could. I'd suggest finding some better examples of them. They most certainly can tank, they aren't designed to be as intuitive of a tank as say a warrior, but they can. I know I've even had a bruiser tank a twelve man raid for me before and he did just fine.

Hehe, yeah, all of that was just me rambling my oppinions, don't seriously expect such changes to ever take place, and yeah, would cause quite a few problems.
