Returned, and seeking help

Hi, I quit playing just before KoS released, however, I have some free time now and I want to start playing again.  I stupidly bought EoF digitally so I didnt get KoS...very annoying. So first question: is it necessary to get KoS for important skills?  Is the alternate advancement stuff worth dropping another $30? Second question: anyone have any ideas on where to solo/group to get level 60-70?  and how do I get there?  my old resource for conjuror info (summoners tower) seems to have little to no activity as of late...is there a new conjie message board somewhere? Any other general advice for someone who quit playing over a year ago?  Things are coming back to me, but very slowly.  Anything will help, thanks! Ajun, 60 Conjuror

Where and when did you buy EoF online? SOE recently announced that Direct2Drive downloads of EoF include the rest of the expansions. You pretty much need Kingdom of Sky, as that's where the majority of the level 55-70 content is. EoF has some 55-70 content, but not nearly as much as KoS. Solo from 60-70: Tenebrous Tangle, Barren Sky, Bonemire, Lesser Faydark (to a degree), Loping Plains. Group from 60-70: Sanctum of Scaleborn (Tenebrous Tangle), Palace of the Awakened (Barren Sky), Mistmoore Catacombs, Castle Mistmoore (both in Loping Plains), and about a dozen 1-group instances throughout.

You will need to purchase Kingdom of Sky to be able to hit levels 61-70. The only thing EoF will do for you is allow you to earn 50 more achievement points and open up the conjuror aa tree and EoF zones there weren't available in KoS. You would have been better off purchasing KoS before EoF so you could at least hit 70. Now your just stuck at level 60 with no way to hit 70 till you get KoS. I guess you can always get alternate characters up to 60 till you get KoS though.

Totally not true, you can level to 70 with Echoes of Faydwer alone.

OK Maybe I am wrong about that. I'd like for someone to post here that have hit 61-70 without Kingdom of Sky expansion pack. Then we'll know for sure. And also you'll be able to give the best advice to the original poster as to how and where you did it. But I could have sworn KoS was needed to advance past level 60.

<p>I unfortuatly have all the expansions but can tell you 2 of my 70 toons never entered a single KOS zone 60-70 lol and I did it no problems, In fact I did it fairly quickly as well.  I your soloing make sure to do all the quest lines in lesser faydark, they don't give as much xp more gold based but its pretty decent xp.  If you find a group New tunaria is GREAT xp and GREAT quests from 55-65 or so, extremely good place to level.  Around 60 you can still do mines instance in steamfont, this zone gives pretty good xp as well.  Loping plains is awsome from 60-70, do all of the quests you can solo, there are also quite a few solo names in there as well.  And if you find a grou willing for you to tag along, you can do unrest, should get a good 2 levels out of that zone if your low 60's.  We had a 62 in there the other day got him to 64 by end of zone and he did fine.</p><p> You may not level quite as fast as you can in KOS areas but its not that hard.</p>

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out those zones. Xalmat, good to see you, sad to see summoners tower is no longer used much. I bought EoF digitally on August 13th.  I already emailed SoE asking if I could get my money back so I could buy it in the store, thus also getting KoS, but I'm assuming in typical EQ customer support style they'll say no.  Now that I'm looking for it seems like everywhere it says the digital download doesn't include past expansions but at the time i purchased it it wasn't clear! Well, hit 61, so I guess 60-70 will be possible without KoS.  Burned through a lot of exploration and quest exp though, so I imagine it'll a bit slower from here on out.  Still got around 70% vitality though. So the question now is whether or not the summoner's tree and the extra zones are worth buying KoS.  I understand what the trees do now...nothing that huge but could make a difference every now and then.  What do you all think?  Will I be a [Removed for Content] conjuror without the summoner tree? I filed a petition to see if I could get KoS or somehow return the EoF digital download and got an email saying it has been escalated to the account support department, however, I'm still not that optimistic. if all other fails, wait until november when Kunark comes out, that package will include all content as far as i know (not 100% on splitpaw and Fallen Dynasty)

Got 62, yay. Experience is so easy with vitality and tons of quests that are like "kill 5 mobs...heres 5% of your level."  Too bad all the rewards suck.  I went through all of Philip Glaslow's quests (mostly while level 61 I might add) and the final reward was some crap neck piece I don't think I could even wear yet. Anyways, the good news is SoE told me if I buy retail and install it they'll refund my digital purchase of EoF, so yay for decent customer support.  I dunno why they wouldn't just include KoS in the digital download of EoF, but whatever.
