I've decided n Bruiser as a class, and wonderin what the best race is, maybe a half elf?

Race is almost completely cosmetic. In the long run there's barely any difference between them.

Another vote for 'race really doesn't matter'. The statistical differences are neglible and will be made completely irrelevant by equipment within a handful of levels. None of the racial abilities are significantly strong enough to warrant one race over another (the possible excpetion being both the Fae races ability to glide).

Pick whatever you want, in the end it won't make enough difference to worry yourself over.

He got his first Gi this weekend and he is one shecksy beastie.

While some races make FAR more amusing bruiser than others =) (I had a halfling one at one point), race really is cosmetic. The only races you'll really notice anything special are the arasai or fae, both of which get faefall (fall slowly and don't take damage) and glide (allowing to jump and glide a little further with your faefall).

Both of those can somewhat be simulated with tinkered items (parachute and spring loaded stilts). Even better if you manage to get one of the cloaks with feather fall on it, since that wouldn' t have a duration like parachutes do.

Ignore everyone else. Kerra, they have the best balance of all the attributes a Bruiser could want and/or need. Tiger like strength + cat-like reflexes = teh win!

Plus they're the coolest looking Bruisers to boot.

Well since you want to be a Brawler, you can either start evil or betray from a Monk to Bruiser.

I personally just pick what I like and perhaps looking at the racial abilities (which are minimal but might add such as a percentage to your power pool)

And by the time you level high, the stats on your gear will make up for any problems (pretty much)
