View Full Version : New to game - can Shadownight resurrect? heal? Pets?

Hi, I'm new to EQ2. I played EQ1 for a while (below lvl 20) and am coming over from WoW. I really like EQ2.

I'm trying to find out what skills the Shadowknight has. I thought in EQ1, Shadowknights could resurrect and have pets.

However, I'm flipping through the list of skills on EQ2i and I don't see either.

I don't see any heals either, although I haven't looked through the entire list.

Can Shadowknights heal, resurrect and have pets? thx

Can Shadowkngihts heal: Yes through lifetaps (self only) and we do get a lifetap reactive (short duration buff that when we get hit it does dmg to the mob and heals us. Its gone after 5 uses and has to be cast again) The lifetap reactive can be cast on others for indirect healing but the rest of our taps are self only heals. Resurrect: No Pets: Not really. We have a DOT that summons up a skeleton that attacks the mob for 30 seconds and can be killed before the duration is up. Ok I'm guessing you already read over http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Shadowknight this? Lots of good information. As you can see, from the link provided, we have several lifetaps (which are nice), Feign Death (which is single target thus can be cast on others to remove their aggro), Evac (love this one), Mit siphon and various DoT's and DD abilities. Combined with our AA's, Shadowknights are a fun class to play (good solo and group tank class).

Plus, a dot cant have aggro, dumbfires can.

Yea I know its dumbfire, but I always called it a DOT. Some SK's don't even bother with it. I do. I have mine at master level. Now if I could only get it to stick around longer than 30 seconds and tank oops I should get out my necro if I want that

the dumbfire skeleton is the most power efficient damage in the sk arsenal afaik.

I use it a fair amount grouping and soloing, usually right after Despoil. For raid mobs I rarely use it tanking, but tanking or not...I would use it right after AOEs on longer spread timers.
