I started to play Everquest 2 again, and I'm looking forward to the new features in the game that I did not see when I got the game when it first came out. What is holding me back though, is the fact that my game is laggy, even on balanced settings. For the computer that I run, I would think I should have no problem running the game without lag on AT LEAST High Quality settings, but apparently I can't get it not to lag on balanced. It is really making me not want to play the game anymore. My system specs are: AMD 64 3200+ ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard 2x 1GB G.Skill HZ DDR500 RAM eVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB SuperClocked Edition 80GB Western Digital Caviar HD @7200RPM I looked at the FAQ. I tried the clean boot, and scanned for viruses and malware, etc. I also went to systemrequirementslab.com and checked out if I can run Everquest2 and it says that I can run it extremely well. All of my hardware was more than enough for the game. With the system I have, I really don't want to be running into problems like this. Can someone please help me out?

Draketh wrote:
2x 1GB G.Skill HZ DDR500 RAM 80GB Western Digital Caviar HD @7200RPM
A few things: 1. Exactly how much free space on your hard drive? 2. How much memory usage does your computer have BEFORE you start the game? 3. What's your AA level set at from your graphics card's control panel? (this may be in the dxdiag, or it may be impossible... i don't remember how AA works with EQ2). 4. What resolution are you running at? Having no free space could chunk things easily, as could things running in the background. Also 16x AA or something crazy like that could also cause "issues" I'm sure. But since you said you're on "balanced"... I dunno. Plain-old laggy zone is always possible (don't run this test in Qeynos Harbour), but I really dunno.

I went to update the ethernet driver, and the latest version is the version I have right now. So no luck =( I reformatted, and it still lags. I really want to figure out what is causing this.
