Hi all, I rolled an alt wizzy, have it up to level 15 (omg what a fun toon!). At 10, I could take down yellow mobs no problem, but now, it seems even some greens resist half my spells. I've done the following to help my toon: - make sure disruption and subjugation skills are max - loaded my toon with uber +INT equipment (136 INT @ lvl 15) - all spells are adept 3 (main is a sage) - even bought a hex doll (chaos imbued roughspun) You know the story: debuff (resisted), root (resisted), dot (resisted), nuke (resisted), run! I'm sure it is dependent on the type of mob I'm attacking, but already at level 15, I'm encountering too many that resist! Is it going to be like this all the way up to level 70? Or am I just in that rotten level range wizzies tend to suffer? Is there anything else I can do to help fight resists? I'm only level 15, so I'm not going to depend on group help at this point... it would take forever to get anywhere. I'd hate to have to do the WoW thing and just grind my toon up 10 levels, that would suck. I'd be grateful for suggestions! Thanks for reading

You will find that things improve as your gain levels. Not sure why, but the lower levels seem to be a lot rougher as far as resists are concerned. Gaining your second (encounter) root at level 40ish will be very useful for soloing, not to mention the increased durations as you upgrade your roots.

I'm a lvl 47 wizzie and I get Resisted up the ying-yang. It gets so frustrating at times I wanna scream. There I am, working my way along, and spot a baddie that I need. So I throw a bolt at it and find that he has 2 or 3 buddies. Now, I could take on ONE of them right handily but 3? Not no way, bud. Oh, I start throwing spells but almost all get resisted. My best spells and they're brushing them aside like they were a little sleet on a winter day. I should mention that I'm fully tricked up with Adept I's, II's and some Master II's and nothing helps. Woops, died again. I'm s'posed to be the big bad magician but at times look much like the biggest wuss around.

Masters spells will cut down on resist, or easier mobs...

Well, here it is 8 levels later, at lvl 23 now, and the resists aren't quite as bad. I've noticed it varies hugely, depending on the different types of creatures. Some creatures just flat out resist 75% of everything, no matter what, and not just yellows. The blue turtles in bbm resist almost everything at my level. Better spell strategy: I hate to buy Masters, they are sooooo way overpriced, it's ridiculous, but I guess my main nukes/root are worth it. What good is money if I can't kill this mob... Debuff strategy: I pre-load an attack using the hex doll (super slow cast), and load up on the debuffs, but they don't seem to help at all, not that I've noticed. I've pretty much given up on this... anyone have any noticeable luck with debuffs? Keeping subjugation and disruption near max isn't too hard... just grind through some mobs after you level. All equipment still uber... fat damage is sweet I hit five times harder than anyone else in groups (so far) ... I'm hoping the masters will do it, will try to find/buy them tonight. I'm afraid this is the last option, hope it makes a big difference!

level 24 you can pick ball of fire as a master 2 choice , it should land for over 1k at your level.

So it's confirmed, disruption helps with resists? If so does this actully reflect in the spell resist %?

I know the base skill for enchanters, subjucation, help them land mezzes...but when I mouse over disruption it gives me no clear indication that it will help me land spells.

Disruption lowers the resists of all of your pure damage spells, any spell that has a crowd control aspect will be based on subjagation.

I've been searching the forums here, and one person claimed that points in the Stamina AA line helps with resists. He claimed he's rarely resisted. Looking at that line, theres the Battlemage's Fervor, which "increases disruption and focus". Think I might respec and try that out... EDIT: Question: Are there any items that improve a casters spell casting in any way? Preferably improve wizards disruption, subjugation, focus, etc., but anything would be nice...

I've seen a number of disruption items..just as with most things, there's dimenshing returns, the higher you go, the less of a difference it'll make. there's a ring from nizara quest line that reduces recast timers by 5%

Stick with Necro/CMayong Orb, Necro/Wrath, or Necro/Fitz. (In that order.)
