AAs are points you get to spend in 2 class trees, for example if you are a Brigand you get to spend 50 points in the Rogue tree, or 50 points in the class specific Brigand tree, total 100 points, max 50 in each. How to get these points. You can quest and earn points that way, each time you finish a quest for the first time, you earn AA xp, collections also earn AA xp once you turn them in. You start earning AA points from level 10 onwards. AA points arent essential as such, they certainly do enhance your character and certainly do help you in whichever way you choose to develop your character. SOme AAs certainly can help you solo abit better, best thing to do is once you hit level ten, click "L" in game and have a look at the AA lines.

Hey and welcome back! AA is referred to the Achievement system (L is the shortcut ingame). There is two trees: 1: Archtype tree (come with KoS), the druids share the same tree, enchanter share the same tree, etc. 2. Class tree (come with EoF). Every class has their own specific Achievement tree. You will need the KoS expansion to be able to get AA points in the Archtype tree, and the EoF expansion to get access to the class specific tree. If you only got the KoS expansion you will start gaining Achievement experience at level 20, if you got the EoF expansion you can gain them at level 10 (for both trees). I look at achievements as a method to tailor your own play style into the class, and makes your character abit stronger in the area you like or need to be stronger. Most of the skills you gain from the achievements is small improvements on existing spells and skills. I.e. my Illusionist get achievements that will reduce power cost and reuse speed on my most used nuke, another one increase the potential on my power regen buff, and some will give me a total new buff. The thing is that you cannot have everything, just limited to 50 points in each trees. This results in more difference between players that plays the same class. You gain Achievement experience by doing quests higher than level 10 (when you are level 10 or higher yourself), exploring new areas, killing named, etc.. I.e. playing the game

Have played with no AAs post EoF and while they give a good benefit they arn't absolutely required imho.

What Are They?: AAs are an alternative form of progression in KoS and in EoF that open up new skills. These skills range per class and are labled as such (Crusader, Warrior, etc... for KoS and Assassin, Guardian, etc... for EoF).

How do you get them?: There are a variety of ways to get AAs with each offering it's own little reward. Nameds give considerable AA xp, Looting treasured items (Looted Treasures), Status items that are looted, and completing quests. Repeatable quests were just made to give AA the first time you complete them. If you reach level 70 xp is converted into AA xp.

Are they required to solo?: hmmm......NO THEY ARE NOT!!! They help you out, but are deffinately not required to solo in this game. However if you raid certain guilds may require you to take certain AA routes that are beneficial to raiding.

Hope that tidbit of info helps ya out.
