Hello guy's and gal's, Im new to EQ2. By that I mean I have been downloading it for over 24 hours. Still have not gotten to play. But I have been reading alot of the post's. Trying to learn some stuff. Here in the newbie yard I have seen one thing that is very frustrating. Abbr's. |I have no idea what they are or what they mean. Yet the elders of the game seem to continuously put them in the replies. Remember please whn you reply to a newbie post that we dont know what your talkin about

I would apprecite a crash course of jargon on this game.

|If anyone has the time to put it in. |If not then whenever it actually stops downloading(it has said it was finished 4 times now), I will ask in game.

But please try to remember to spell out the words so we know what that is.

|Much appreciated.

TY.

You see there is Butcherblock Mountains and Blackburrow, Butcherblock Mountains is the next step beyond Gfay, while Blackburrow is a lvl15-20ish Dungon off of Antonica. BB in EQ2 accually stands for Blackburrow, while BBM stands for Butcherblock Mountains(or Butcherblock for short) because Blackburrow was in the game first, and as you can see from my list above there is already a BM. However, based on your location it probly would be safe to assume they where refuring to Butcherblock Mountains

The thing I always find funny is the zones people don't seem to abbreviate for exsample I don't think I have ever seen an abbreviation for Steamfont, while others like Feerrott(Feer) are just shortened.

Steamfont can be abbreviated to SF or SFM (Steamfont Mountains) and The Feerrott can be The 'Rott (or simply Rott)

KoS - Kill on Sight TT - Tenebrous Tangle BS - Barren sky TS - Thundering Steppes, TradeSkill, TeamSpeak. all a matter of context. and there is a whole ton more of them out there. Ask whenever you hear something you dont know what it means. Most of the time the eq2 community is grown up and just answers your questions rather than the rather wierd replies you get in that Other Game. Heh.

How come I can clearly envision this discussion rolling across my messagebox in game.

CoQ or CoO. Most people just refer to those as Call now days since there is call of Kelethin, call of Neriak, call of exile, call of Ro etc. So many of them that when you just say call home most people understand. Only call abbreviation I see used often is Call of the Hero > CoH.
