Any suggestions for a class that can solo well, deal out serious DPS, but also has some minor self heals? I've been playing a Paladin to level 18 the past week but I'm finding that the DPS isn't too hot and some fights are taking a really long time for mobs my own level. I tend to solo most of the time although being helpful for raids when I get to 70 would also be a bonus, and I certainly want to group as much as I can.

Any advice is appreciated.

Take Fury reccomendations with a grain of salt. 90% of people who ask for suggestions on this board say "I wanna solo and heal" and every time people say Fury. This means in game they're a dime a dozen. Fact of the matter is that every healer can solo and heal similarly well. Fury just happens to be a bit faster with the damage. And with the right AA spec, the gap closes significantly.

Not even close to being the same at all in how fast they do it. Shamans solo slow, and in order to do it faster need AA to help - but even then its no where near as fast as what a Fury can do. And this is why Fury's are mentioned when anyone asks this question. Wardens do ok as they are druids, just Fury (as the name would suggest) are a bit better dmg. One thing you are right about here is because of this Furies ARE a dime a dozen.

It looks to me like the Op is looking for a Necro too. To the OP in exchange for those abilies you ware paper, so keeping the MoB off you is of greatest importaince, however being as a necro you get a pet that should be fairly easy to do.

Hm ... I would toss up a Necro or a Fury for what the OP wants as well.

Thanks for all of the advice. I thought about the Necro but just couldn't bring myself to play an evil character...I've been a Paladin or similar in every other MMO so it just didn't sit well with me. I know, sounds dumb, but that's just me.

I ended up rolling a Fury and after a few hours I'm level 12. I really am having fun with it as the heals are much better than the Paladin and while the combat is pretty boring (HO with only 2 DoT spells unless I'm missing something), I assume it gets better, especially around levels 24-25 with the nuke spells.

Anyone have some suggestions for the AA for a damage-dealing Fury? I went through the Fury boards but as you can imagine, it's overwhelming with all of the choices. I'm thinking that I'd like to have the DPS mostly and that as a healer, my role in groups and raids would liklely be as a secondary healer.

Thanks again for the comments and any other advice.

He can solo and survive very easy, but Op wants serious damage, and inquisitors just don't dish it out hard/fast enough. Fights take too long. My level 15 wizards hits alot harder than my quisy.
