What is the max? an additional 100% damage? 50% ? 33%? Also does anyone know what the max to % chance of a spell crit is? 100%?

The Max spell crit chance is 100%. For damage it rolls damage as normal and adds 30%, if the result of that is lower than the spells max damage +1 it will increase it to that.

Max chance is 100% - the amount your crit varies, ice nova and fusion will crit differently than any other spell. Calculations have been done by quite a few people on the subject. Most point to approx a 0.4% increase (per 1% crits) to your original dps value without crits.

<p>yesterday on my 55 wizard in SOS, i hit a 8k crit on adept 3 ice comet on a lvl 68 named. i just did freehand and catalsyt. idk how i did that but it really hurt the named lol</p>

<p>If i remember right Ice commet gets to around 5k for the top of the spell range at adept3 freehand will add say 24% damage to that or make make normal range 6,200 max damage, the a crit will add another 30% or 8,060 if you add in any debuffs then it will add to the max hit by a max of 50% or with max debuffs and a max hit/crit it will do ~ 12,000.</p><p>My Ice Nova has landed for over 25K on numerous situations in raids and max base damage is 10,000 for normal range.</p><p>And Slippery stated the basic mehtod for crit daamge.</p><p> To figure out how much 1% crit will add you need to do a lot of math aka find out the % of your normal spell range that will be less than max+1 damage when 30% from the crit is added. The larger this % the more average damage a crit % will add, as you have a larger chance of getting more than a 30% gain.</p>
