Returning Level 49 Monk Newbie has questions about Gods, Abilities,Miracles, etc...

<p>I recently rejoined EQ2 after purchasing a digital download of EOF, and I have to admit that I am lost when it comes to Gods, Abilities, Miracles, Blessings, etc...   I have created a few low level toons and was hoping to get some info as I played the game on choosing a God and what you do when you have chosen one but so far my toons are only about level 8.  I do, however, have a level 49 Monk who is now wandering around Butcherblock but I have not stumbled upon anything, yet, to give me info on Gods and everything that goes with them (i.e. the "whisper" you get in EQ1 when you are eligable to quest for the Adventurers Stone.)  Can anybody offer me some information on the different aspects of this part of the game (or a place where I can look to find them ?)  I am interested in how to choose a God, what the difference is between a Blessing, a Miracle, an Ability, and any other thing I should be aware of regarding these ?  How does this concept of altars work ?  Can my monk pick any God she wants or is she restricted to what God she can choose based on her being a monk (i.e. are Gods class-specific ?)  My monk has already stumbled on a bush where she gathered something and ended up with a Blessing but I could not see how this Blessing was affecting her (saw no icon anywhere.)  As I said before, I am really confused here and any info at all would be appreciated <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  Right now I have her working on a whole bucket load of Achievement Points she should have (but does not yet) for her level.  <img src="/smilies/499fd50bc713bfcdf2ab5a23c00c2d62.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Thank you !</p>

At the Butcherblock docks there is a historian from whom you can learn more about the gods and where their representatives can be found.  Generally you need to be level 20 before you can start any of the deity quests. The bush you harvested from wasn't a deity blessing, per se.  That allows you to use a portal cast be a druid to travel to that druid ring, if the portal that was cast was for Butcherblock.  There are similar bushes in Antonica, Commonlands, Steamfont and Greater Faydark. Your monk would be restricted to Good or Neutral deities only (at present that would be Tunare, Quellious, Mithaniel Marr, Solusek Ro and Brell).  Bristlebane is supposed to arrive before the next expansion.
