Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this topic, but it seems this will get read by more.

Did a few runs in unrest the last couple of nights with a group of guildies that already have their chestpieces. I currently do not.

Everytime - a piece falls to a groupmember that has it. Is this working? Has anyone seen this happen?

This has not happened yet with fabled drops that I have seen.

It seems to work perfectly on raids. Maybe there is some group dynamic where if there is only one class that needs, it may not auto drop that...not sure.

Not saying it couldnt be bugged, but if one of them has your chest piece in their inventory, bank or anywhere, it will show up as looted already. Make sure they even have sold over 10 things to make sure its not in the buy back window. Good luck getting it.

Ah crap..thats why!

An assassin was with me who has his chestpiece. Maybe thats why it did not drop.

I thought it was supposed to go through each member in the group makeup, see who has what. If there was one person who did not have the piece, it would drop.

I'll make sure he never goes again! /wink

It is supposed to check those who are able to use it and if they all have it then it won't drop. If it was the other way around a lot of raids would never have class loot drop anymore. I do not think the system is guaranteed though somehow to prevent abuse I would assume.

I thought "smartloot" was intented for raid zones only. Emerald Halls, Frerthinkers Hideout, Mistmoore Inner Sanctum, etc. Zones where the fabled class pieces drop. (Edit - I am also pretty sure that it checks all group members for the pieces that they have and if one Ranger has the legs while another does not, the legs still have a chance to drop. )

From the update notes:

The bosses that drop Legendary and Fabled armor-set pieces in Echoes of Faydwer are now aware of which set pieces characters in the group/raid currently possess. These bosses will only drop an armor-set piece that someone attending needs. As long as you have the item either equipped, in inventory, or bank, you are counted as "possessing" the item.

Of course there are a couple of other items that they said should be working, but are not atm.

I mean if there are two same classes in the group, it wouldn't be fair to remove the one class that has the piece of armor worn that the other character of the same class in the group doesn't have. (Hope that makes sense) In order to make the piece drop.

Why doesn't it just look at what is worn? Honestly if it is a legendary special armor you are looking to get, wouldn't you wear it as soon as you get it?

I am fully EOF fabled Fury who likes pickup groups. I do not wear the legendary set. Do you think it would be fair to the other people in the pickup group to see fury armor drop every time because I have mine stashed in the bank? On that note do make sure the people in your group stash their set pieces in their bank if they are not going to wear them. The loot mechanics check equipment slots, inventory and bank to see if you have the set armor. If someone is not stashing an unwanted piece but just selling or transmuting it, it will continue to drop for him when he is in a group.

if there is 2 of the same class in the group and 1 has the item and the other does not it should still have a chance of dropping no matter whether they are wearing it or have it in the bank etc. if this is not happing then it seems bugged to me and cannot be how it is intended or how it reads in the notes!

At least on raids, you can get an item that one person already has if there are more than one of that class in the raid. The loot system seems to be working as advertised in my experience at least.

Snorm -- 70 Guard

I ran Unrest yesterday.

We had a Wizard in the group that had both Chest piece and Hat. Everyone else in the group had all the pieces. Yesterday both piece's droped for the Warlock in the group who had niether the Chest piece or Hat.

I have run Unrest five or six times since the GU and it has been correct every time. But in all those time I know (multi-boxing) no one had sold or banked there pieces, they where in inventory or wearing the pieces.
