Best class for 2-handed swords

<p>Hi Everyone, </p><p>I am new to EQ2, and have tried the trial and bought the game. I am enjoying it, but I'm now trying to make a character I really like.</p><p>Is there a "best" class for doing DPS with 2 handed swords (or 2H anythings)? I know it's kind of silly but I just like to hit things in melee with the biggest piece of shiny metal I can find.</p><p>Ive read around and it looks like a lot of the warrior classes can use 2H swords, but seem more focussed on tanking/mitigation than DPS.</p><p>Anyway, hoping someone can help shed some light on this for me.</p><p>Thanks,</p>

Probably a berserker would be your best bet for doing damage with the sword.  Offensively specialized berserkers can do a pretty respectable amount of damage and there are a few things you can do to do spiffy stuff with a two hander.   Puting AA points into the agility line can give you a 40% per attack for you to hit up to four enemies, putting points in the intelligence line can speed up your attacks by a large amount, and points into strength will greatly increase your chance to critical.  It's not exactly orthodox, but it is pretty impressive to wade into a big group of enemies and start laying about with your big sword.

Perhaps one of the Crusader classes would work for you (Shadow Knight or Paladin). Berserkers, as of now, don't really have the greatest DPS if using 2-handers. One-hander plus Buckler is their greatest source of damage and tanking.

One-hander plus Buckler is their greatest source of damage and tanking.</blockquote> I would have to say monks/bruisers are probably the best for 2hs if you get the staffs.  Zerkers are probably better than SKs/Pallys because they have that berserk buff.  SKs don't get much and there are only a few 2hs that would work properly with us.  Right now i'm using Gnilla's Sword of Slaughter for my 2h dps sword.  It doesn't have high dps, but it does have a 1.5 delay timer so I can get a consitant amount of damage in.  However there are better swords out there like that sword of the sky and the 2h katana off the guy in HoF.
