Question about OUT OF MEMORY

<p>My family member I turn to when I want new parts for my pc I told about OUT OF MEMORY and is requesting my upgrade from my puny 1 Gig RAM to a 2 Gig RAM I have heard prevent these errors. But he said that its probably some memory leak and it doesn't matter how much RAM you buy, the problem won't be fixed. Can we prove him wrong and tell him it will fix it?</p>

Having 2GB doesn't fix it for me - sorry. I still get it in Neriak and Qeynos, at least. Though, turning off environment shadows reduces the frequency of this happening.

I have EQ2 on EXTREME PERFORMANCE. Does that include what you said? So does anyone know if more RAM will fix it?

EXTREME PERFORMANCE does not have environment shadows (If I recall, only EXTREME QUALITY has them on by default). That said, even on EXTREME PERFORMANCE, I still get the Out of Memory error sometimes, but usually only once every couple hours. Having more RAM may decrease how often you get the error, but I couldn't say for sure. There's a definite problem with the way the game is addressing memory at the moment.

I run for 1-2 hours at most. I've locked up once... my entire machine... but it was in Qeynos Harbor so I would expect that.
