I would like to take a moment and thank SoE for introducing me to the English language again. I recently left the "other" game. At first I thought I had joined a European server mistakenly. However, it soon became apparent that I recognized some of the more common phrases in the English language (please, thank-you, hello.. etc). I am a little more comfortable with the game now. I am also confident I am almost ready to apply for guild membership. Previously I would have considered the following as an acceptable means of applying for a guild. " i wunt to join yur guld. i wont to get gears and U guys are progressed! i need gold 2. i want teh phat epix and you guyz r like totally leetsause so i can get lots of them fast n stuff. i like long walks on the beach and pwning n00bs." I am still learning, and soon I hope to place my first order at restaurant. Again.. Thank-you Sony Online Entertainment.

I have noticed a distinct lack of abuse of the English language found elsewhere - wow & cs:s are the front runners here - and it is a joy to see. Knowing that you will not need 20 minutes to decifer a 3 word tell is brilliant - and more time spent playing. Wonder if they could add such words to the spam filter - reduce it even more

This might be what I get for only having played MMO's with mature communities (basically to small to have too many idiots, examples would be Horizons and Ryzom), but do people really talk like that? My eyes are bleeding from just reading that one example. *sighs*

Yeah. It is pretty close to how people speak in other MMORPGs. It always made my eyes hurt. It is also one of the reasons I like Everquest 2. Even though there are still the ocasional person who writes like that.

Folks, remember that your population changes during the summer months due to the kid influx.
