If you have the coin the easiest way to to buy sealed documents/idols off the broker and turn them in.

City writs give you a big boost but seem time/labor intensive.

Heritage quests give most status points, also as posted before writs (either adventuring or tradeskilling ones), or selling status items.

Yup. Either mentioned method will get you there. For example: I saved up 3 toons worth of status producing items (toons ranged from 23rd-64th) and then turned them in for my middle level toon. He'd never done any writs other than perhaps 1-2, but he gained....I believe....40k status just off of a number of them in a matter of one "type" (in this case, the sealed documents one & 3-4 of the types of them). So it's EASY to gain status.

Also, depending on your level, some of the Heritage Quests, even grey ones, are INSANELY EASY to do and gain mondo status for them, all on the cheap and easy. Dwarven Ringmail Tunic & Heirophants Crook HQ's, both can be done in under an hour (each) and net you around 70k status (total between them) and (if greyed out) will involve very minimal killing and relative ease. Plus you can "Mount" them for your home as well (or sell them for nice coin) to a vender as well.

For me (and this main) I do a little bit of everything: City Writs, Heritage Quests & Item Status turn ins. I have roughly 400k status (left), but have friends with like....18,000,000 status.
