Goading Gesture OMG!!

so I pick this up from splitpaw today and it has the SAME taunt as my Sacrilige Master II  - 1 point!!!!  so only thing Sacrilige has that goading gesture doesnt is the disease debuff.  It's on a seperate timer also <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  AND..it's a 6 sec recast!  I chose Sacrilige as my Master II but I'm rethinking that currently.  just thought I would share because I didnt even realize this spell existed until recently.

Of course they're different timers, Sacrilege is an encounter taunt, Goading Gesture is single target, and on the same timer as Insidious Promise.</p><p> The basic threat increase is better than M1 Promise, but not once you add the damage / hate over time. Still, the 10% chance for double hate is nice, but it has a shorter range and is easier to resist.</p>

I've been using this taunt since I got it way back when.  It scales with you, and is Adept III (or better) quality.

You get it from the broker in Splitpaw, however you need faction to be able to purchase it.  You need to complete 3 of the solo instances in there to get enough faction for them to sell you anything.  You also get a nice little shard to port you back there from anywhere in Norrath.

For me Goading Gesture has a higher taunt value than Insinuate at level 80Goading Gesture: 1,251 - 1,522 (56% harder to resist)Insinuate Master II: 1,147 - 1402 (65% harder to rests, not sure if this is because of my AA's I spent on resist reduction)While Insinuate does have hate over time (only summing up to 279 [93*3] at max), with a duration of 9 seconds. The recast of both these taunts are 8 seconds I believe. 7.3 recast with Avenging Invigoration.So, the refresh is quicker than the hate over time, and each time gives you 10% chance to give out double hate.Seems better IMO. Only 7 more power, for change at double usefullness everytime.

Only 7 more power, for change at double usefullness everytime.</blockquote><p>Insinuate Master I for me does 1137-1384 hate up front, 74-90 hate every 3 sec after that, BUT...lets not forget about the damage it does as well > > > 80-97 disease damage up front and than 159-194 disease damage every 3 seconds, which most likely will crit.  1 point of damage = 1 point of hate.  So not factoring in spell crits or splurt Insinuate does 1916-2333.  Of course with spell critting and splurt I like that hate much better everytime over 1 out of 10 it having a little bit more.</p>
