I know this will realllllly sound dumb but bear with me ....

Right now I still have my little *studio apt.* in Kelethin ..... so I have two slots; both with backpacks holding 12.

My question is this: if I upgrade to a display rack; I've noticed there are various kinds for sale; some are for different crafts etc., food, alchemy etc. ... do those include the items that are used to craft ... like rough turqoise type items?

Also; if I buy a sales display that says "household items" - does that mean only furniture? Or does that mean any item other than the ones you would need the *crafting* type displays for?

Lastly; if I chose to buy a display, say that holds 48 items, how do I get the stuff out of the backpack into the display rack?

Thanks!

I believe all the displays are for crafting items only. If you want to sell anything else you need normal boxes. To get the stuff out of your backpacks you will need to remove them all from sale then you can move them around.

The specific displays are for crafted items only. Various looted adventure items will also go into these specific displays if they are the appropriate type. The salesman's crate however can hold anything.

The trade off with the salesman's crate is it holds less items than the specific displays. But if you live in a small apartmment with only two slots, you are mostly likely better off with two crates. If you are a crafter, however, you may wish to switch out one of those crates for a display that matches your tradeskill.

Only crafters should bother with the item-specific sales crates like the potion cabinet, bag stand, etc. If you're not going to be crafting to sell, your better choice is a salesman's crate.

They hold fewer items than the specialized displays, but they still hold more than the largest strong boxes, plus they are placed in your home, which allows people to go to your home to buy, bypassing broker fees.

All the sales displays are made by carpenters. Check on the broker, or if you've done some harvesting and have managed to pick up a piece of rare wood, see if you can find a carpenter to make you one. The smallest ones are made of fir, but you can get them made from cedar, oak, ironwood or ebony, depending on your budget. I think fir (smallest) has 28 slots, ebony (largest) has 60.

To swap out your bags, just remove all the items from them (you can use the button in the lower right of your sales window that says "remove from sale", drag the empty bags out of the broker window into your inventory, and drag the new crates in. Then just refill them and reprice. After you've done that, you can right click on the crate in the broker window and you should get an option to place the crate. Place it like you would any piece of furniture (though for sales crates, putting them in some obvious place is always best).

That's it. Sit back and make oodles of cash.

For clarification, the item-specific sales displays are not at all restricted to crafted items. Scroll stands hold anything that's a spell, combat art, or rune; Weapons racks hold weapons and ammo; Jewelry boxes hold jewelry and "baubles", which are just about anything that can go in a charm slot. Armor racks hold armor, whether cloth, leather, or that clonky plate stuff. But for starters I'd get two of the largest Salesman's Crates you can afford.
