Hello,

unfortunately the link in the FAQ is broken. Can anyone give me links or tips how to improve your dps in a raid?

Reason is my performance in a Temple of Scale / Harla Dar raid last week. Okay, your primary role in this event surely is generating mana, pushing mana and supporting the group / raid; nevertheless, 300 dps during the whole Socket of the Priestess seems WAY to low for me. I think I could do definitely better, but I cannot find out how.

heya mate, three things to say.. its a very easy and simple thing doing dps with a coercer. 1. spell cast order 2. aa agi line specc (when your not on mt/ot group -heal crits +spell crits from the aa int line) 3. dmg proc items, dmg proc items and dmg proc items and one last thing - some mobs we can nuke like hell and make dps like hell and some other mobs are still unreachable doing really good dps at all. our dmg is tank or raid getting hit - our reaktives are 50% of your dmg. is the avoid of the tank on cap and nobody is at any ae so the reaktives are not so good - cant trigger. trashmobs that will be fast down - [Removed for Content] mobs for us, where is the time that the reaktives can proc ? so what i will tell you? diffrent mobs, diffrent spell cast order. at beginning of my coercer mt raid time i do around 400 dps. now its zone wide 900-1400 dps a really nice mob is eof freethiner hideout Zylphax the Shredder - its easy to get on top 5 in this fight, why ? that mob triggers all reaktiv off us instant with melee and other aes.. 1,6k and more are possibel. i hope i can help a bit. greetz gothix

You say spell cast order, I have tried every order I can think of... One thing our tanks avoidance is very high so I know I am losing a bunch of DPS there... I re-spec after update to full DPS for the hate transfer and I Pars anywhere from 500 to 1100 mostly around 700ish... What order do you cast that gives you the most benifit if you dont mind sharing...

I'm really interested in this as well.

In addition... do you have recommendations for gear as well? I already have the bone-clasped girdle and die signet of light from darkness as these are easy to get.

Grizzfazzle's Walking Stick staff for example.

The signet from oob is only intressting coz of the int and not coz of the proc. the proc triggers when you get hit (if i remeber right).

gear?

2 set's 1 dps gear high int, power 1 mezz gear with primary focus on subjestion and some swtich part's with ordination for memwipe

spell order hmm hard to say Breakdown has a bigger nuke at the end and you can cast on more then one mob .. but when you swtich the target you maybe loose casting speed debuff stroke maybe then then make sure you have all your reaktives on the mob coz they do the main dmg. the coolest mobs are aoe mobs the more they hit the more dmg you make.

proc gear and + damage spell gear are your first thing to look for (crit gear is good too).

+ damage spell gear will get better since they will add to our reactive damage too soon with the next lu. They didn't do that for now.

If i really go all out on dps i do from 700 dps up to 2.2k dps on epic encounters and my equipment can still improve to get quite a bit higher. I also never have a troubadour in my group so i could get a lot higher if they would put me in the magegroup

On general my zonewide dps is around 1K dps but i'm sure i will be getting towards 1.3 / 1.4K dps. Also if i would get some buffs from a troub or other classes i would be able to get a lot higher. But the downside of our class is that they often put us either in the MT group (which is better with the templarbuffs) or the scout dps group (which i am in most of the time). We're seen as a buffbot and not as a dpsclass allthough we're capable of dealing nice dps (highly situational though, on some encounters you can parse in the top5 and on other encounters you'll be at the bottom).

Btw FTH is really a dreaminstance for coercers, a lot of mobs that aoe, or use ca's a lot. On multiple encounters your first priority is to get your reactives on all the mobs asap. Only do this when you have a MT that can really hold aggro well or you will die for sure. MMIS has some nice mobs to get high dps on aswell

What really helps me getting high dps is the eof fabled classset. The vest (drops from wuoshi in mmis) gives you 2 extra procs on auspex. Which comes down to 7 procs. If you have an encounter of 3 or 4 mobs that use ca's you should be able to get close to 2K dps or even get over it.

Well I have 4 or 5 of my class pieces from EoF just need legs and Hat I think... But from reading the post I might be consintrating on the assist rather then getting my procs on all mobs in the mulitple pull... I am mostly in the off tank group or the MT group... I will have to work on getting all mobs dotted and reactives on that sounds like the key to higher DPS...

Keep posting suggestions...

Absolutely target your own mobs in the multi encounters. Put reactives on them all as fast as you can, and keep working around them. I have a coercer alt that I sometimes raid with, and just by doing that, (crap gear and adept 3 spells), I regularly get 700 to 1000 dps while still generating mana and casting mana flow, and stunning/dazing etc...

Problem for me is once i have all mobs dotted and everything thats when i see why warlocks die all the time=P.

Doe's auspex proc on any melee dmg or just combat arts. MAybe if they changed it to proc on any combat art used instead of dmg takin i might do good dps.. Our guild has great shammis and i can go whole fight with auspex using 2 charges.

And since SOE had finaly realised how stupid power drains are , I'm for turning power drain into power gain for group like gorging thought =P.

Auspex procs off a successful melee attack. Wards are just heals, the attack was still successful. What hurts Auspex is debuffs to the mob's attack skills and haste, and buffs the tank's avoidance abilities. If the hit simply doesn't ever land, then it doesn't do damage. I've gone through whole fights without Auspex ever doing damage simply because I had the things stunned for 70% of the fight. It was dazed the other 30%. Seriously.. this needs to be changed. I'd kinda like our biggest source of damage being fully used in more than just Yellow Epic encounters.

Thanks a lot by now... my dps already improved to 800 average with a maximum of 1.5k during our last lab run. An will probably increase more when I finally gain 100 AA as the 30% damage addition is still missing.

For the spells / styles: what order do you usually cast them?

It should be noted what AA build you guys have when spitting out numbers. Someone who is specced AGI/INT will do the most damage no question. Defensive/Offensive hybrid spec (heal crits, perpetuality) will net a different range of numbers. At the same time, someone not specced in either (for solo play or whatever) will be doing even less. If you are in the MT group and are either asked to or decide to build the hybrid spec, your dps will range from 800-1500 depending on the encounter, of course. Some MT coercers spec for pure dps anyway and will do even more...sometimes knocking on the 2k door. Most posts you see of coercers doing 12,450,123 dps will usually be the 2nd coercer in a raid with some beneficial group setup, i.e. troubs. Completely [Removed for Content] if you ask me but whatever. Some people roll that way. IMO, these are some rough figures for what I think the class can do with some decent KoS gear and in a typical MT group. Defensive build: 600-1200 Hybrid build: 800-1500 DPS build: 1000-1800

Speaking of AA builds, my dps has dropped since the update. I've gone pure CC spec, have dropped from 750 to 400 dps, and fewer people are dying from hate problems than ever. Just sayin'
