As per Domino's gerneral Weaponsmith request in Alakazam, I leave the stats part of the discussion to those who love to munch numbers. Hopefully we can get rid of the spiked salad Bowls :p I will leave other classes to build their list. Just throwing ideas out there for you.

Ulaks: I remember getting my first Rusty Ulak in EQ1 (Was never able to find molds to build them however) I also remember buying Stainless Steel Ulaks, they were a Must have for the 20+ to about 40 Monk. If broght into the game you need to have a whirling dervish animation lol! Acryla and other Ulaks were nice as well but I could never afford them.

Bow: I've always pictured the Monk as a possible Zen Archer, you know, while the ranger is the Eagle eye shot the Monk closes his eyes and shoots through the wall nailing what is behind it Especially followers of the Mantis line.

Fist Wraps: Probably need some better stats as many monks like to Roleplay the bare-handed effect but want the stats/resists/procs. Maybe some DPS would be helpful (we are drowning in haste)

Wristguards: Monks seem to lack any real uncontested avoidance, they have less then plate tanks, Monks and Bruisers are supposed to be the avoidance tanks? (Figure that one out) o.O? Maybe wristguards that act in that capacity? Metal strips in the leather to protect that arm as it parrys the blades or a gem that takes the brunt of spell shockwaves?

Bo Staff: I like these, especially the animations, we just need more choices, procs/damage/stats/adornments and make Grizzlefangs Greatstaff look like a Bo staff the mages already have a walking stick. (My back-up 2hb)

Batons: They were what I used up through and during DoF (Until I got Riposted to death) they could use some better attack stats I think the current poor stats light be because they characters whold the batons incorrectly. They are holding them like a sword they should be holding them by the small 90 spur with the long parts of the baton against the fore arm to ade in parrying/riposting etc and brobably should have more stats for those.

(Non-Monk related) Brock's Thermal Shocker, it would be nice to have other tinkered Magical Partical weapons I tend to think of them as Magical Muskets. Not to mention visuals for them as well. Below lower left is how i imagine them so that they look diffrent from a wand and not quite like a handgun...Maybe I was affected by Disney's: The Black Hole too much as a kid.

Some of your points are more part of the bigger problems had by monks on the whole. If something changed on the tradeskill side of things I would hope it had something to do with getting monks out of that stupid looking leather and into some cool looking robes, bests, and gi's... Since a tailor is currently my tradeskill main I would really appreciate being able to make better looking monk gear, maybe even allow us to make fist wraps since they aren't actually weapons, but more like wraps of cloth... I would really love to see more of all of the above, but especially other exotic weapons such as nunchakus and Chinese longswords. The sword would only really be cool if it dominated the weapon slots for both hands but was animated as a single handed sword similar to fencing. And of course, as a tailor, I would just love to make lot's of different styles of monk gear ... I actually wear a crafted robe over my leather because it just looks so ugly and I seem more like a woodsman or hunter than an actual monk, but on that note rangers look better in leathers. It's just a shame that the gear which looks more the part of the class usually isn't intended for that class...

PS: I didn't actually say Domino requested feedback, but I'm quite sure she won't mind a bit. The actual quote is: "What's the future of Weaponsmiths? Domino would like to review all existing stats on weapons for diversification. She'd like more weapons that were designed for specific classes. She'd love to get some new weapon appearances."

I would like to add a few to your list.

Butterfly Swords: Dual wield slash weapon.

Tonfa: Dual wield clubs.

I also second the statement that monks (indeed brawlers in general) should look more like, well monks! The first time I rolled a monk I couldn't figure out why they weren't supposed to wear cloth armor. Leather just doesn't make sense. Anyhow, if it must be leather, at least give us a chest piece that looks like a gi. The cloth pants actually look pretty good for a chinese look to me. (the ones tucked into the footwraps especially).

Let's face it, this is what most of us think of when you mention a fighter monk; (Gordon Liu FTW!)

That's how I picture a monk, if not, at least the EQ1 monk back in the day. Why wait until level 37 to be able to craft the first real looking monk armor?

Tonfa are in the game just listed as batons and held incorrectly. I say hold off on the robes until they look better. For Gi's I think I can come up with a few design ideas...

That's also what I would have preferred for monks. Shaolin and Wudang style weapons and outfits would look totally badass in the game.

They're probably fighting batons, my monk has those kind in ironwood. But as stated above, they're not really held properly.

Not exactly a monk, but it shows how you're supposed to hold tonfa.

Zabjade! YOU FAIL for leaving out one critical element:

Where's the Nunchaku? I mean COME ON PEOPLE!!! It's not hard to modify the mace graphic and animation by switching out the ball with another stick.

Being able to wield sais would be nice too. Long before they were transformed into the weapon that we all know today thanks to Raphael from the Ninja Turtles, they used to be heavy blunt objects strictly used for blocking and parrying.
