What is an "AA" and what do they do? I have heard the term used a lot in-game and on boards, but I do not know what it means.

"AA" is the term used for Achievement experience.

Achievement experience is only gained if you have the Echos of Faydwear or Kingdom of Sky expansion.

Each of these expansions give you an Achievements tree. Kingdom of Sky gives you a Archtype tree (eg. Brawler) and Echos of Faywear gives you a Class tree (eg. Monk).

If you have either or both of these expansions then during the game you will accumulate Achievement experience from level 10 onward. You get this experience through killing named mobs, discovering new items and areas, turning in collections and completing quests.

As you gain achievement experience you earn achievement points. These points can then be allocated into the Achievements trees to enhance your abilites, improve your stats or to gain new abilities.

The achivevements tree is a great tool to customise your character.

You can check your class-specific board on these forums to see a good rundown of your AA trees and which ones are worth taking, and why, usually.

AA actually is a term used by veteran players of eq1 which someone above mentioned is advanced achievement. Eq2 is actually called AP but has more or less adopted the term AA since alot know what that is.

But as someone mentioned if you have the KoS or EoF xpac's you can view and place these points in the trees upon recieving the point.

Ok, I am level 22 now. does that mean that by not doing all of the quests from lev 10-22 (i completed like 20 quests but most of them were grey when I completed them) that I will not get AA exp for it? I really do nt want to have to reroll my char. Please respond and thanks.

And no if you add the expansions now (if you dont have them already) you do not get retrospective AA's for stuff youve previously finished.

Just by missing a little AA xp does not mean you have to reroll by any stretch of the imagination (note, I was level 60 when AA's came out, so were many others, so even at 22 youre starting a lot earlier than some of us did)
