I thought i read a few months back that there was possibly going to be a really nice collectors edition for this expansion, with some really nice bonus materials. Any word on that?

Yeah I wouldn't mind knowing too..would certainly pre-order it. I know EB Games has the normal version for preorder on their site but no mention of a collectors edition.

I'd buy it, the Collector's Edition, in a heartbeat. Especially if it came with a hard-copy manual that I could read whenever I wanted to.

I would like to chime in awell. First off I love EQ2, Best game I have had the joy of playing. Will be here till they pry the keyboard away from my dead hands !!!!!!!

I would also like to see a collecters Ed of RoK. I have all the previous goodies and would love to have an updated cloth map and plz plz another coin for our collection. The only disappointment in EoF was not another coin. I do think an updated map though would make up for it

Again EQ2 has and does give me many hours of enjoyment and so thankfull to SoE in all the hard work everyone does to give us the best game on the planet. Look foward to seeing all of you in RoK.

I would pre-order a physical copy if it meant I'd get some cool "claim" rewards but I hate how the pre-order digital people get owned into having no benefits from giving SOE money early in addition to paying the same price as people who are buying all the expansions at once. I have given SOE upwards of $170 on just game expansions/adv packs. I deserve something for breaking the $200 on something I could buy for $40.

I'd buy a CE, especially if it came with another soundtrack.... love my original CE.. still listen to the music often. I also agree a new map and coin would rock.

Well it certainly seems like the demand is there, and before i go put down my pre-order money i certainly would like to know if i should wait for the collectors edition to be announced. Thanks for any information.

I found the interview where i first heard about the Collectors edition: Tamat: Cool. That gets me excited. Is there anything else that we missed or you wanted to touch on before we end this? Scott: Are you kidding me? You guys asked more than... You guys stretched my knowledge of this expansion, let me put it that way. No, this is fantastic. The only other new stuff is, we are doing another mount this time. Right now we're looking at a Kunarkian Rhino. Everybody's favorite baby from the OverThere. And we are also looking into doing both a standard retail box as well as a limited edition that includes more cool stuff, more cool toys collector's edition also. From Here I would just like to know yes or no so i can place my pre-order or if I should wait. Thank you.

Good mornin' We had originally planned on seeing if a CE was going to be possible. It came down to the number of SKUs we'd need to deal with. I'm sad to say but the reality was that it turned into something we won't be able to do. The good news is that we're planning on going with both a retail-all-expansions SKU as well as a download-all-expansions SKU. Hopefully not having the CE is made up by the fact that we'll be having a download-all-expansions SKU from day one, which are traditionally much better at bringing more people into the game than a second, more expensive retail SKU. - Scott

SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit. When a company makes a product in a retail box, it gets a SKU. Having a separate collectors edition would be a separate SKU, since its technically a different product. It would be like coordinating two different releases at the same time, and since typically distributors/retailers would order separate quantities of each SKU - it gets to be a pain. Not really common to see a collectors edition of an expansion, regardless of what the parent product is. AFAIK I've never seen one for any game. agressiv

(Heck, we can even say 'wristwatch' with wanton abandon) I think I might miss the mangled cockatrice name, though. It was usually how I found out my bad name filter was inadvertently on (like after installing to a new hard drive).

I would love a collecters edition if it was worth it. Maybe the CE was released early ( though we couldnt access content early) it would be nice just to have the box and have it installed so when patch day comes i can play right away!
