Background:

I played EQ2 at launch, didn't find the game much to my liking at the time, so I left and haven't been back since. Then I received in the mail a invite back from SOE to give the game a shot again, so I did.... and I'm loving the changes. I've been playing a Dirge/Weaponsmith on Mistmoore solid for a coulple of weeks now.

I was able to convince a friend of mine to come and try it again (he received the same offer to come back and try the game again) and he is doing so and has settled on a Qeynosian monk. I want to make a new character in order to play with him and I've been kicking around a couple of different class choices. I've read a couple of class guides at various sites, but I'm asking for some expert input from the community here.

I'm torn between Fury, Swashbuckler, and Warlock. I know all three are very different play styles, but that doesn't concern me. I'm looking for any severe red flags with any of the classes or any great endorsements. I do want something that compliments the monk class since I will be grouping with my friend when I'm playing this character. So... any input?

A monk/fury duo is a pretty good one I hear. Both do some really nice damage allowing you to tear through mobs as a duo. Plus with a tank/healer combo you just need to add DPS(easy to find) and hit some dungeons. Both wear pelt armor which, alt least on my server, is horribly cheap(I just delete it if I get one).

I'll go with the above poster, and suggest the Fury - they're good healers, and can put out decent DPS. The Monk is a good tank and puts out good DPS as well, so between the two of you, you have all the bases covered.
