So I played EQII a long time ago and got the Vanguard offer in the mail yesterday. It is too good of an offer to pass on so I will be calling Norrath home for at least a month (along with 150,000 others). One question I have is whether the PvP arena in the desert is used alot on PvE servers or not. I really like PvP, but not the FFA ganking edition of it found on most PvP servers. Would be nice if I could at least expect fairly regular opponents in the arenas. By the way, I must say SOE is doing more than any other company to change their overall image.

You can also access the arena from Freeport (and probably Qeynos).  Unfortunately I never see it being used, it seems like it would be a lot of fun though.

<p>Aye, you can enter via Qeynos as well.</p><p>Regarding the number of opponents you'll find - well, every now and then I see some chat in level-specific chat asking for people to come join, but every time I swing by I rarely see any open games (maybe one).  Maybe it's better on the higher population servers.</p><p>Either way, just ask, and I'm sure you'll find a few people who will be up for a game at the very least!  Check your server forums, too.  I used to see Arena events being hosted, but not sure how often they occur anymore.</p>
