Could someone please explain what utility a Mystic has on a PVP server?

I'm level 63. I get jumped one on one, and it's almost to the point to just sit down. Wards are removed by Pumice stones, so no utility, defense or survivability there. If a ward is used, it's plowed through in seconds, and the interrupts/stuns prevent me from getting another ward off, so I"m dead in seconds again. Heals are too slow casting to be of any help... Debuffs are no use in such a short fight. Resists count for nothing in PVP now, so no chance of resisting slows or roots. I can't run away because even with JBoots, and maxed out sow, I only run at 50%, and it seems I"m one of the slowest around. I"m dot'd and my cures have a recast time now in PVP, so I cannot remove all the dots. Even if I could, see part about stuns/interrupts/stifle.

Explain to me please where our defense lies? I"m completely combat spec'd (KoS: Agi: 4-8-8-2-1, Sta:4-8-0-0-0 / EoF maxxed out with Weapon mastery & 5 points in SoW). My resists are at 3k each, and I"m wearing all mastercrafted/fabled armor and 1hpiercing spear and mastercrafted shield. I still don't stand a chance in single one vs one PVP, or heaven forbid I run into a group. I cannot evac (Locket of escape is too expensive, compared to Pumice stones which are so cheap).

I"m a very good Mystic at my level and I play my class very well. Perhaps I"m simply at that level where I'm too high to group with one side, and too low to group for the End game raids.

I"m really frustrated, and with Fan Faire going on, perhaps someone can shed some light on this situation.

My loves the mystic. At 66 he couldn't get a group or raid or he tried to solo, but the dps just hugely lacking even though had a fabled 2h and spec'd to high heaven for dmg. He made it to 67 and then quit for the same reasons as you. He now plays an SK and owns everyone he comes into contact with (btw, he makes it a point not to use HT). Yeah, i'm a fury, but mystics ALWAYS get the shaft. It just ain't right. Recast on cures? 5sec and 3sec for wards? No meaning to resists? No real instant healing power? No extra run speed (nerfed because they said it was overpowered, but wardens get to keep theirs)? And yet the insist on pummeling the hell out of mystics. It's almost as if the devs get a kicked out of watching mystics try and pvp. I feel your pain, my brother feels your pain. You haven't gotten a response because there's nothing for anyone to say. It sucks and its lame.

sure wish we could get a developer to comment here. Doubtful, but I'm still hopeful.

Maybe someone at fan faire can bring up some of these points.

Square peg, round hole. EQ2 wasn't originally built for PvP and it's got a long way to go before being remotely PvP balanced. The words - bargepole touch a EQ2 with wouldn't PvP I - spring to mind, but not in that order.

Get gear that has nasty procs on it.

I don't play on PvP but the one thing that caught my eye is your resists. You should have at minimum 6k (7k at 70) for resists. It won't stop a dot attack but it will do less damage. The more resists the less it will affect you. Other then that I really don't know how to help in a PvP setting.

The main things that helped me stand out most were 1. Melee Spec. Being able to deal damage helps in PvP. Especially solo. Get lots of STR gear and lots of gear that procs damage. The tunic and ring from obelisk of blight are wonderful for PvP. I have also found Scourge to be a great toy in PvP. espeically against sorcerers.

If you plan on group pvp, then stick with heal specs with proc gear.
