I am sure this question has been asked and the topic discussed but I have not been able to find an answer.

My question is were should a swashy be placed in a raid, in the MT group or elsewhere for high dps. We normally have Pally(tank) Mystic-Fury(healers) Dirge and Conjurer and another dps class myself or monk.

My arguement is that as a swashy I should be in the MT for all of the buffs and hing offered in the main tank group but I keep getting put in the lower groups any advice.

BTW I am also trying to figure out how a monk with his dragon stance can out dps me at any time

IMHO, a swash should be in the MT's group ......or in 2ndTank group. That way our aggro transfer to the MT or 2ndTank.

If your raid leader is putting you somewhere else....explain the issue....they probable just don't know the ins and outs of raiding with a Swash.

As to the Monk issue....hmmm...more information would be helpful....but its still a difficult question to answer due to all the things that can affect dps during a raid....

Dragon stance has no effect on DPS all it procs is hate so that could be your answer right there. You aren't generating enough DPS while the monk is maintaining his DPS and procing his hate stance.

How does your gear/spells compare to that of the monk? If his are better than that could also be part of the problem.

Other than that I can't see why you aren't in the MT group.

P.S. Your arguement seems to be more along the lines of improving you... not the raid which could be something else.

I am in full cobalt master chain and adept 3's dw with 2- cobalt falchions, for the most part I believe we are fairly equal in gear

PS it seems as if they have never had a swash in the main tank group do you know why someone wouldn't use a swashy like that

Yeah Dragon Stance will not affect the Monk's DPS at all. I can not see why a Monk would be in the MT group other then to feed the Paladin more hate but would think a Swash would be able to do a lot more. I raid on my Monk and have never been put in the MT group and I parse pretty well for a Monk.

Depends on how your guild raids... If you use an OT or MA.

Swashbuckler adds four things to a raid:

1: Style 2: Debuff 3: Agro transfer 4: DPS

Now you can be in any group and add style!

The raid leader needs to decide if he wants you debuffing through the MA OT or MT. this can also be done from any group assuming you're not putting out enough DPS to pull aggro.

Once you start pulling aggro they will need to swap you into one of the tanking groups for aggro transfer to MT or OT. / Amends.

If you want to increase your DPS without changing groups do the following:

1: Use Grandmaster Posions 2: Get a good weapon. (do SOD questline) 3: Get yourself a STR and Agility master crafted imbued Acrylia rings 4: Get yourself the 2 +10 DPS adornments and all the STR adornment you can 5: Get the cloak of flames or god cloak (questlines) 6: Get all you AP and spec for DPS.

This is just a guess but I'm guessing for aggro purposes, if you are MT'ing with a Pally, having someone like a warlock with amends on him would generate more hate, especially now with the 18% transfer we got reduced to. I'm not 100% certain but I don't believe the Pally could amends a caster in group and have your hate simultaneously unless I've read correctly. Now, if you're running with a Guard or Zerker then ya, having you would help substantially.
