So I was trying to adorn this beautiful weapon, tried several crushing adornments which didn't work, so I asked 60-69 if anyone had a clue, and someone said, maybe the slashing part is having a laugh. So it has a crushing buff, it says dual wield crushing, but the damage is slashing? I sure hope this is not meant to be

A little while back, brawlers only had the crushing skill past level 20. Because of this, most brawler weapons are based on the crushing skill regardless of the type of damage they actually do. This one uses your crushing skill for accuracy purposes but inflicts slashing damage. This trend changed in KoS, but there has been no real consistancy with the weapons since then. Some have been slashers and piercers, yet others have still worked off crushing but done slash or pierce damage.

So your saying its intended to be like this... still weird that it says duel wield crushing but slashing damage

Like I said, brawlers used to only have the crushing skill - slash and pierce were not even on our character sheets. All of our weapons used to use the crushing skill regardless of the type of damage they did.

I'm not sure why new weapons are coming out like this since we now have all three skills. Pure slashing weapons are the rarest type for us, so maybe they left it as a crusher for accuracy purposes so it would have a good chance of buffing your other hand's accuracy as well.

In other words, it is a bit weird, but not extremely so considering the history of brawler weapons.

Just to be crystal clear ... the +7 Crushing will buff the accuracy of this weapon, as it uses the Crushing skill. However, I think adornments are based on the type of damage done. As others have said, this is how all weapons used to be, then the gave us back the Slash and Pierce skills. Looks like the item guys still haven't completely adjusted to that.

We currently have slashing and piercing skills, but it wasn't added until KoS, as Bladewind said. I remember this because one of the first slashing weapons I got, I could not hit a frelling thing until I got my skill up from 100, to 350. The same went with piercing.

greetings!posting here since I got that Weapon finally and running into the same trouble regarding adornments.tried a +5 crushing and a +5 parry (for crushers).doesn't work really and before I'm going to waste more expensive ressources foruseless adornments I'm simply trying my luck here in the forum.only thing I figured out is a cheap proc for crushing weapons would work on it.would a +2 riposte (for slashing) work? or which of the fabled adorns working at all?since I tank most of my time the +parry or +riposte would become interesting or a+skill adornment but this weapon is somehow picky.it sure does slashing damage but the weapon type is crushing and a skill adornis used for the accuracy and weapon type not the type of damage.so what's wrong here? please help since this weapon i s in need of some adornment love.cheers,Nok

On a side note, is that damage rating still the same after the dual wield changes?

Weapon adornments indeed need to be of the damage type, not the skill that the weapon is based on. So in your case, you need an adornment that works for "one handed slashing type weapons". I bought a crushing adornment myself first and found out I can't apply it... I think it still sits on the broker.
