Was setting up /tells in some macros so the other 70 mystic in a raid would get a /tell when I cast torpor and bolster. A few battles into the raid I get a /tell back "Whats Torpor?" Is it strange that I would still use this spell. I didn't think so. I suspect someone just missed it. If you don't know theres screenshots of it in one of the defiler vs. mystic threads around here, as well as a description in one of the sticky posts at the top of this forum. Sorry, just struck me odd.
You should use Torpor, it is one of our best heals -Pysa

Torpor is awesome! I would be floored if I annouced torpor(which I always do even if there are no other shaman around) and got a tell back from a fellow mystic asking what it was myself.

Its one of the many great things of the spell is that if you run with more then 1 mystic in a raid you can use the spell every time it is up and as long as the mob is doing enough damage, both mystic's torpors are being used. If the mob isnt doing enough damage, well then the normal first on first to take damage rules apply.

I use torpor all the time. The only time I don't use it is if the tank is well able to handle what he's fighting with only minor healing required.

Use torpor to heal and _slow_ down the DPS specialists mainly rangers and Swashies who are pulling too much aggro. It is great in combination with Shadowy Attendant to keep the clothies alive in a fight leaving me to concentrate on warding the MT and debuffing mobs.

Part of the reason I annouce it (other reason is when I'm using it on the MT so that the dps fiends know the tank is slowed and snared so if they get agro across the room, he's not coming to pull it off them).

Last I checked, a lot of tanks defensive skills already root or snare a tank, so just for that reason alone your dps should get in the habit of running to the tank. Not to mention short range AEs going off in the middle of the healer/dps pile = bad.
