I respeccd my 31 fury to a Warden. I am now 41 and have 22 AA points and went down the EOF Wardens line to get the 75% crit. I have heard alot how Wardens have issues with damage due to not having direct buffs for either str or int. People therefore choose Furies. So far I am not seeing any issues. Being that I mostly solo I am finding my melee speccd warden awesome. I do very respectable damage but the biggest thing I notice over a fury and even my 41 inquisitor is my ability to stay alive. Frankly speaking I find it almost impossible to die. I have insane mitigation and power pool. I can stand toe to toe with a large pack of mobs that would have wiped the floor with my inq and because I am melee spec, spell interruption is not an issue. I'm sure a fury can outdamage me but is'nt the ability to stay alive a big factor when soloing? I would like to know if I am mistaken in my feelings on the warden and is going back to fury really much better for me if I solo. By the way I also thought about going back to my inquisitor but through some extensive testing vs. various types mobs I find the warden way way better in every situation.

It depends whether you solo for xp or for nameds. If you solo for xp killing speed is a major factor. How good is it to stay alive if you kill extremely slowly? Now, I'm not saying that staying alive isn't important, but killing speed for soloing for xp is darned important too. I'm unsure why you ask if you did a wrong choice, because the only one that can answer that is you You should play the character you find is fun whether it is warden or fury. You say you find the warden to be better in every way, so why even consider switching? You have played both druids types, you have personal experience with them, you are your own expert

A lot depends on if you are Powerleveling to 70 for some reason...or playing the game for the fun of it. If you are PLing, it's probably a tie whether a Fury or a melee spec'd Warden will get you there or not. If you are in 'competition' with a DPS class to hit 70 first, then you will be unhappy.

If, however, you want to eventually be an end-game Warden, you'll want to stick with it and get the benefits of learning the class as you level up. I find I learn my capabilities best when soloing, and hate pickup groups. If you are playing to be an End-game Warden, you'll eventually have to know how to heal..and heal in a group. That's where what kind of damage you can/can't do won't really matter, IMO.

An Inquis can also solo and not die. Inquis DPS, spec'd for damage, is far better than Wardens'. If you are spec'd mostly to heal, you will also probably not die, but will lack DPS to do it in any kind of timely manner. If you are playing to have fun - who cares which class can level you fastest? Play what's fun. If you are playing with an agenda, do a risk/gain assessment and take the one that will -with your play style- level you fastest.

Thanks for the replies guys, you are both right, I should just play what's fun for me. I dont plan on being a raid warden and don't even care about fast leveling. The only thing I care about when leveling is having the ability to take out the mob i'm after so I guess I just want to be good at killing named mobs. It's just the min/maxxer inside me stopping me from just laying back and playing what I enjoy.

well healers will never reach DPS classes dmg capabilities... and thats good. But melee wardens do not kill extremely slow either... solo or not. And we do have nice survivability and evac + ports which really shine in solo play. ++Xan
