Hello - I have a mystic I've been very happy with leveling up, and I like to plan out my development well in advance. So far 21st level with 17 AAs all in Combat. I'm very pleased so far with the results - I like the more in-your-face flavor, which fits the barbarian race perfectly, IMO.

I am planning on full Agility line, full Combat line, and the rest of my EoF points in Augmenting. But what to do with the balance of my points in the Shaman tree?

- Strength line - at best, I will only be raiding casually, and my guild does not demand I must have the dog. I'm not terribly thrilled at having a pet either, so this is pretty much off the radar as far as choices.

- Wisdom line - the bonus to healing seems attractive, and I would never turn down more Wisdom, but I'm not sure how the new Ritual of Mind and Ritual of Magic would benefit a STR-focused melee Mystic.

- Intelligence line - again, seems more geared for Defilers or others who will be sticking with spells over combat arts. The INT-2 DoT, however, would it be a good addition for extra dps?

- Stamina line - I prefer to use 2-handers, but with the changes, does anyone have any thoughs about how this could help at all?

At present, I'm merely considering:

Wisdom 4-8 (for Ritual and extra Wis/Power) Intelligence 4-8 (for some extra INT and the DoT)

Could any of the more learned and experienced shamans lend insight?

Thank you.

No responses?

Either the choices after AGI/Combat/Aug are so abyssmal, or I happened upon the perfect combination for my profressed playstyle?

I'm only like 47 or 48 myself. But, I don't plan to max out any of the kos trees. The first thing I did was put 3 pts in all the combat arts (and 3 in bear form upgrade to unlock the final ca). Right now I am maxing out my melee crit chance. After that, I plan to go str line at least until the hast buff from the dog is maxed. Even if you don't use the dog, the haste buff will be nice, and you wont ever have to send him into battle. Personally, I also liked the leg bite, which interrupts the target, and I might get the weapon mastery ability and the endline str ability to give the dog more survivability. But, if you don't really like the dog, then just go far enough get the haste buff. Other than that, upgrade your buffs, and the cures line looks real interesting too. -h

Didn't reply before because you stated you didn't like the Str line and that is personally the line I think the the best to add with the melee spec.

Not much to do with raiding either, the extra haste and warding from the dog are rather helpful in groups/soloing.

In eof, buffs and melee are really the only choices. Rez line is practically useless (other than like 2 mystics serverwide apparently who like it). Cures aren't much better, especially if you don't plan on raiding. The melee and buff lines will serve you better in a group.

If you really don't want to bother with the dog you could just take the sta line.. can get 16% double attack from there which is just as good for dps as the haste is, if not better.

I do appreciate the responses, thank you. So STR over INT, then? I was curious how the DoT from INT-2 would match against STR haste for DPS... I may have to check on test.

Thank you.

Personally I threw in enough points to get all of my CAs plus the added proc on Ursine form first (minimal of 1 to 3 points) and 5 points into the HP/Power buff, then went down AGI for Tribal Rage, then went over to STR to max group ward and get the AE semi protection for the dog, then went back to EoF to finish my CAs for Weapon Mastery. I didn't work on augmentation fulyl since none of the stuff below the first line I had access to yet. If I didn't care for the dog I would probably spec STA for double attack and put 4-1 in INT so I can use that second ability as you mentioned. Of course this is just me going melee mode.

Personally i did all of the CA's first to weapon mastery, then i took agi line to max crits. After that i went Str line to end ability..that dog immunity to ae is huge in just normal grouping not to mention all the extras he brings, haste, ward and the ability to proc a group immunity to ae's as well for the group except the one with aggro of course. With the few points i have left i went down Sta line to the shield bash for the daze. After that i'll finish up in EoF with the aug section. These are the KoS selections i've found work best in the trio i group with, SK, Swash and myself. I did try Tribal Rage as well as the 16% double attack, while they added to my dps there are fights in a group where i don't get to dps much so the dogdog aa's far outweighed the little added dps i could do.

Thank you for the additional input So far 20 AAs, and just one point from finishing Combat EoF line.

Right now i'm specc'd str/wis, wis for the extra disruption, etc. mainly cause i hated getting my debuffs resisted and this happens approximately 5% of the time now with 5? points in it. Have probably 6 points in combat, and maxed out the augmenting line, i really like this set up, although i miss the agi line for the dps, and also casting ritual before our group heal is pretty dang good.
