I was looking forward to Dog form; Coming from WoW I expected it to diversify my character quite a bit. Now I've found its a fairly weak armor buff with no downsides, meaning I'll be a dog forever... Am I missing something or is that really all there is to it? Are we just dogs?

Also, you can gain three more forms (treant, tiger, and white wolf) by taking the first box in the KoS AA.

Personally, I keep my illusion form hidden.

I've always liked our wolf form, still remember that first shapeshift in Antonica scarecrow fields back in the day. Never minded all the sniffing, barking and now howling

The form seems much too big though, be much cooler if the size was more realistic.

I am the same way - I keep my illusion hidden. Besides I like the look of my sexy wood elf with her dust cloud.

Me personally, I'm a big fan of the bee form. Makes my ogre fit in with all the damned arasai.

You can either hide the illusion in your Persona window, or just type /hide. Druids here are priests, druids in WoW are ..well, Druids. It's a different game with different archetypes.

Although I love Warden, as well as the whole druid-y lore and possibility of RP...when I rolled my healer on a WoW server, I rolled a priest and ultimately spec'd Holy. Some games have it so druids can do so many things that they just really don't do any of it well. WoW druids are like that, IMO.

Didn't mean to turn this into a comparison - but our Wolf armor buff is very respectable at level 20 when you first get it. If you are saying it's weak based on your Apprentice I game assigned spell, I can see your point. Take it in Master 1 or 2 and increase it with AA abilities, and then tell me you think the same thing. With that spec, Wardens can really take a beating. In some cases you have as much mitigation as a plate wearing priest.

As far as the appearance - I'd like the wolf to be smaller, but the other abilities give us a lot of druidish shapeshifting utility. At level 20 being disappointed in your Warden is a bit premature. Read your shapeshift abilities before thinking your Warden of the Forest spell is all there is.

That said, I always type /hide.

Just remember its really just another class defineing buff ... mitigation/see invis ... with an illusion form attatched to it.

Over time you will have access to alot of other illusion forms , some with benefits ,most just for fun.

To get a particular one to show instead of the wolf form(which youll propably allways want on) you just need to cast it before the wolf form.

I have alot of fun using different illusion forms , I think i have about 20 diff ones i can use , other than totems.

I like my Warden fine, I'm just kinda disapointed in this particular skill is all. I confess I don't read ahead on what spells I will acquire as its fun to anticipate them appearing when you level up <.< I rolled my Warden to heal, and he's a [Removed for Content] fine sport at that, so I have no problem with the class as a whole. Thanks for telling me about /hide, I will likely be making use of that. I'm a Froglok, very sexy after all. The armor bonus isn't bad(5% mitigation), and it's certainly downplayed by the fact that I only play my Warden in a duo with a Monk, so I'm not oft a tank. I wish I had Kingdom of Sky >_<. I only have Echoes of Faydwer so I specced for melee-Warden. It works well enough for my devices(back up DPS) Though I'm finding that I may like my nukes more then the melee versions.. I can always respec into Improved Spirit of Wolf if that happens I suppose. I don't see anything point-worthy in the tree for a healer honestly. The restoration line seems quite lame and the remedies don't seem at all useful at my current level and the tiny %s they add. Are the KOS trees better?

KOS trees are better.. there's 2 "heal" lines (aka lines with an AA in them to directly increase your healing) and the str line has a group heal that procs off your melee attacks (think it maxes out at 32% proc chance), so if you stick with the melee stuff and get kos, you'll be able ot put out pretty nice damage and proc heals while doing it. Your best bets for a duo probably are the melee line and the renewal line, imo. The problem, for you, right now with the renewal line is that ALL the abilities it enhances don't come in until later levels (spores and spirit of the bat don't come til 35 and the first anti death isn't til the 40s); the enhances to those abilities aren't all that bad though. You should try to get kos as soon as you can and just start working the trees in there until you've levelled up a bit. And even if you keep the melee stuff, you can still take sow enhancement.. can grab it right off of the cold strike AA

The Protector of the Forest spell (your wolf) is updated by 50% with EoF AA's - so you don't need KoS to get that benefit. If you don't like the heals and cures, you can do down the movement line and later on get the defensive upgrades to spells (as Ryala says) that you don't have yet.

There are some nice heal crit lines in the KoS AAs you might want to look at.

I may be stating the obvious, but maybe not since you are accustomed to WoW, and are a new EQ2 player: You know that you can get your spells in better quality than the ones you are given automatically when you level up, correct? (So that you guys don't jump all over me: in WoW your spells have the same name pretty much your entire career, every 2 levels some of them upgrade in 'rank'. There are very few chances to upgrade them in quality. If you were accustomed to that and waiting for a different rank, you would miss entirely the Apprentice/Adept I/Adept3/Master upgrades available for your current level).

If this is something you knew, I apologize. If not...check out the Broker for spell upgrades - if you are playing with all game-automatic Apprentice I spells, you will wonder [Removed for Content] we are talking about when bragging about how much we all like the class.

Yes, I know about the various ranks of spells and all that. Money's been kinda tight so I've just been holding onto it for the time being, as I haven't had any real troubles since I got Master II Regrowth. I might go ahead and spring for an Adept 3 Greater Regrowth or something though, as Master II Regrowth is finally starting to fail on me a bit (multiple +3 arrow pulls aren't trivial anymore <.< I need to quit being lazy and put all the collectibles I have in my bank on the broker. Would Master I wolf be a good investment(assuming I can get it)? Or does this spell have an upgrade soon?

If you can find a Master I for it, I highly recommend picking it up.

And when you do decide to get KoS, you'll find the STR line compliments your melee EoF skills nicely.

Try and see if you can get hold of a jasper and get blessing of the grove ad3 made (level 26 single target regen). It'll last you til level 40; every spell upgrades in 14 level increments once you're past level 20 (pre-20 some of the spells upgrade every 7 levels instead which can be pretty hard on the bank if you try to ad3 all of them). Before 26, I'd just run with an ad1 greater regrowth if I were you, and stay away from the m2 of it because its replacement spell (which, at ad1, is roughly equal to the m2) is only 2 levels away which isn't very far to go.
