View Full Version : Did callous stomp line get nerfed?
<p>It used to do more damage if recently knocked back, now it doesnt. I didnt read anyhting about this in the update, am I missing something?</p><p>Why nerf this? <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>edit: I just re-read the text to make sure im not crazy, and the description is the same, but the damage it does isnt there anymore. Seems like it got nerfed...</p>

Oh... beautiful. Usually this kind of thing is a sign of things to come. It was slipped in early... they'll "fix it".. and then a GU later they say "Reduced Bruiser DPS some to 'bring them in line', despite their AA's hobbling them to begin with" and voila, it comes back in full force. /sigh What I'd give to have my way for a bit as a Dev for Bruisers...

You know, just because we've finally got a smidge of raid utility is no reason to nerf : a) Bruiser Fear b) Soak Hit AA c) Callous Stomp. a) and c) are both so arbitrary that it really annoys me. There seems to have been no rhyme or reason to the changes. b) actually amuses me. Presumably there were some bruisers out there that <i>weren't</i> concentrating purely on the attention and knockout lines. (with the obligatory 5 pts in self heal), and so the devs wanted to change that.

Raid DPS will probably not change from this update (since Epics rarely get knocked down). Heroic down damage dropped significantly on this ability. My CA cycle took a little thinking/management before, now it's just "spam em, in any order.. just spam". I was doing some calculations a while back and had the numbers for the bigger damage Callous Stomp at 600 Strength and Adept 3 and 25% AA bonus. It was 1526.25 damage over 30.5s (0.5 cast, 30s recast), or 50.04 DPS. Now, with the same situation, it's an average of 813.5 damage, or 26.67 DPS. That's nearly dropping the DPS by half for the ability, which we would have gotten on 99% of encounters outside raids. That's a fairly drastic change, one I hope never stays completely, as it makes no sense whatsoever to change it this way.
This is rediculous. Really hurts me in pvp. Where can we post so someone that matters can fix this?

I'm hoping its just a bug. Does the text description still say that it does extra damage if they were recently knocked down? I'm at work ATM so I can't tell. agressiv

This looks like a goofy game update bug rather than a ninja nerf to me. A) Text description was not changed. B) The actual damage was not changed either, still getting 80-100% more damage on a normal mob if it's knocked down first. All is well (sorta). <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>I was messing with my hot bars last night and noticed this too. W T F.</p><p>While I usually use scared still (mez) instead of instill doubt line (fear), I realize that in KOS there are times for each of these (hehe cloud pad fear, anyone?) so I went to put ID back on my hotbar... and I couldn't find it in my spell book. I thought the nerf was that fear and mez were put on the same (rediculous) timer, not that the CA was completely removed from brusers... anyone else still use fear notice this disappearance?</p>
