View Full Version : Did I see this or Did I imagine this???
Hi all, I am sure I saw something in the notes about the byproducts from adepts 3's (the powders) being able to be combined to make a higher Tier version of the sparkling powder stuff. Did I imagine this? I can't find any reference in any of the patch notes for GU 36 or 37 ???

You need to be a level 69+ alchemist to obtain the A bit of Fire, a bit of Ice quest.

yup, you need to be lvl 69/70 alchemist (any adventure level) and see the halfling alchemist in the Fools Gold Inn , just inside Rivervale She will send you to get some items from Everfrost and Lavastorm (all items near docks, so safe for any level, but u do need to be able to mine/gather there). she then rewards you with the recipes for combing dust together to make a higher tier dust 3 dusts are required, but if you get pristine, one dust is returned to you.

Nice to know I am not going mad! Although I am a number of level too young in the alchemy department to take advantage of this quest reward.

Although my alchie was already capped in harvesting skills.

But, TBH ,although a minor PITA, its not that difficult or time consuming to get any level adventurer to the skill required. The recipe is more than worth it, although , I agree, the quest would be better with no skill requirements other than the lvl 69 alchie.

My Alchy is a L30 Paladin/70 Alchy. Skills at the time were on average 190/350. I was able to gather and mine the parts. I can't remember where I read/heard it but the recipe was supposed to be able to be completed by L1/L70 Alchys.

Thank you guys!

I guess I'll just go ahead as originally planed and see how far I get with it this weekend. If it ends up being wasted trip, oh well ... the poor girl does need to get out once in a blue moon I guess ... as long as she doesn't make it a habit! I remember last time I gave one of my crafters permission to leave the dungeon it took weeks to track her down and drag her back.

Only thing is, I figured carpenter = wood, so I only leveled up wood chopping in the big scary zones. I then went to do the quest in Shim, only to find out that I should have done gathering (roots and fruits). Off I went back to the big scary zones to level gathering up to 240. I ended up dinging my dirge to 20 during all this running around and questing.

Yeah, both of these toons died a bunch from the big scary mobs, but they are tradeskill-only toons and I wasn't worried about the debt. I just took off my crafting gear before I headed out to forage. All of the zones were pretty easy to level up to 220 by doing some creative moving around.

Then I had to hit T5 for the last 20 points. I went to Rivervale and foraged died foraged died ran foraged died ran ran sprinted. Once I dinged 240, I skipped off to Shim to get the quests done.

I examined one of them just on a lark, I think the ice crystal in Everfrost, and it told me skill needed to harvest was 1. So, unless you honestly have zero in your harvesting skill, you should be fine.
