Am a little confused by all the loot qualities I am coming across from attuneable to treasured to different coloured backgrounds and so on. Is there a guide to all this - with images preferrably - or could someone briefly, but concisely explain how it all works?

Gonna name stuff in order of quality, then go on to other descriptions. The quality affects stats as well as extra things, like procs (proc description below) you'll find on the item. A higher quality sword for instance, of the same level as a lower quality one, will have a better damage rating, and most likely better stats. (Color of the words affects nothing, it's just there to help identify the different Teirs of treasure) Common stuff is white lettered (Store bought stuff). Uncommon is yellow (Trash dropped loot) Handcrafted is light green (Common crafted stuff, also some mobs drop this stuff, mainly from old world zones, and the Splitpaw adventure pack). Treasured is a light blue (Drop from common mobs occasionally, and named mobs chests regularly, also rewarded by normally easy quests). Mastercrafted is a light brown (From crafting rare harvested materials, which you also get from named mobs chests sometimes). Legendary is about the same color as mastercrafted, maybe a bit darker (Drops from the chests of named mobs, as well as being the rewards from tougher quests). Fabled is red lettered (Other than Master I versions of spells, these only drop rarely from normal named and are normally always found in the chests of named epic mobs, other than a few who are for quests or respawn quickly [i.e. in a matter of hours instead of days for contested] those mobs usually drop master 1 spells or junk). And Mythical is purple (Drops from extremely strong named raid mobs the first time they are killed on a server, and never again on that same server). Attunable means that the item has to be 'attuned' to be used. You cans till wear it, but it will give you no stats. Attuning an item makes it only usable by you and not tradeable from that point on. Lore means you can only possess one of that item, No-trade means exactly that. Hmm, can't think of any other stuff...oh yeah. Procs are additional abilities given to items, such as regen, or doing additional damage (processing an extra attack or ability, this is where proc comes from) when you hit something, so forth and so on. You can also adorn items with items bought from players. These adornments can give a great number of different bonuses. One adornment per item. Crafted items can also have a built in proc when created. Ornate items cannot be adorned (mostly the end rewards from Heritage quests, which are long quests with usually nice item rewards and large xp/achievement xp/monetary rewards. Hope this is what you needed, I apologize for the rambling layout, I just listed stuff as it came to me.

Handcrafted - Not loot, but anyways. For playing pve, this will get you through. Not much more though. Treasured - Were starting to get there. some treasured gear is actually worth using. some is trash, but meh, toss it on the broker and make a fwe gold. Mastercrafted - not dropped, but its good gear. Baseline gear for twinks. Legendary - Now were getting there. This is usually fairly good gear, and drops from nameds and the odd raid mob. Fabled - Top of the line. Most of the time at least. in t6, you can find some really crappy fabled stuff. some of this will sell for lots and lots of plat. Mythical - These are really, really rare. Like, first kill of raid mob only rare. Usually have some pretty [Removed for Content] good effect to them, or they are just plain flavor. Some guide event gives these too. then we have the added description tags; No-Trade - Speaks for itself. No-Destroy - Cant be destroyed. Ornate - This piece cant be adorned. Artifact - Only ONE per server. Lore - Only one per character Attunable - to use this item you have to attune it. It cannot be unattuned. Attuned - an attuned item cannot be traded. you can transmute them or vendor them, nothing else. Well, delete as well. Citizenship Freeport - Need to be a citizen in an evil city to use. Citizenship Qeynos - Need to be a citizen in a good city to use. Might have forgotten one or two, but meh.
