I am not a healer nor do I play one. My guild healers however have brought up an interesting point that I wanted to post about in hopes that it gets addressed or at least is ballenced with the expansion.

We are gaining 10 levles with the expansion but when it comes to healers, if the way it has been done in the past continues, there will be no upgrades to their main heals/wards. My girlfriend plays a mystic, and looking it over, she will not get an upgrade to her single target ward, group ward, and group heal. I checked it out and it seems to be the same across the board with healers of all types. I just wanted to bring this up do to the fact that we will be facing "harder", higher level content, yet all our healers will have the same heals they had for the tier below. As long as it is ballenced properly I'm fine with it, but wanted to make a point of posting about it just in case it hasn't been thought of.

As a side note, I would have loved for us to just gain 5 more specialized levels as opposed to 10 levels of upgrades to stuff we already have. I still think this is a good idea for the future so will post how I think it would work in my head. First have each level require not only a massive ammount of expierence but involve a questline that follows along with each new level. Let's say it would take the equivilent of 3 levels of expierence gain and then a trial of some sort to actually ding. When you do level you gain access to a list of class specific spells or combat arts and are asked to choose 1 or 2 per level. If the list is long enoughyou could have several choices on how you want to focus and could have some set up for all play types. The advantage of this would be a way to add a bit more uniqueness to the classes and also could make it so previous tiers are not greyed out completely. Just a thought and don't want to distract to much from my post so will stop there, just some stuff to think about.

Not raising the level cap leads to mudflation, which was one of the big killers of EQ1.

And people, don't start going off the hook and denying that EQ1 was killed. Yes, people still play it. NO, not NEARLY as many people played it as there used to be. It was killed.

Was just posting a concerne with regaurds to healers and not getting upgrades in hopes to make sure Dev's ballence the new content accordingly. The second part is just something I thought would help with those that want to grind while keeping those that are still wanting to explore old content happy.

the devs will do what they did in the past when a lvl increase did not include new healing spells. They balance the mobs so priests can keep up. Plus the spells scale up to 14 lvls in which by the 15th u get a new one. we have gone through 2 lvl increases alrdy and if there is such an imbalance with the mobs and heals the devs have responded and adjusted.

I'm not worried in the slightest. It's not like healers won't get any heal upgrades at all. Plus their current specialty heals are quite effective and will continue to be effective into T8.

Or possibly they might upgrade at 12 levels so they get the group heal version at 80 and the single target one at 79. That would be pretty generous imho. Only time will tell though.

Well...in the meantime spells will continue to scale as you level so I really don't see what you're whining about? As I read it...ALL spells will be upgraded by lvl 80 AND every class will have a NEW spell ability then too.

Not looking forward to the grind, but grind it will be if you are to remain competitive within raids.
