Probley a name for it but for now i will call it subsubclass...

Thats right, lvl 80 and 100AAs and beginning to gather all the awsome raid gear. What if you could seperate yourself even more than just another 80 Wizard or Warden by adding subsubclasses (i was never high enough but i remember EQ1 of branching classes at high levels) Split classes into another two once agian. May want to begin this as a quest when you are lvl 80 and it is something tricky or hard like I have heard the Claymore quest is.

Im not very good at making up names but you could branch a Warden off into soemthing like Forest Warden which keeps the normal spells you have as a lvl 80 Warden but you will also gain new spells such as using more animals, such as a wolf or bear pet and could cast a wolf form that would help peferably scout and fighter classes with some cool offensive stats and proc.

The other Warden subsubclass could be something more defensive and group oriented.

Thats just one class that i have brainstormed a little around... give me your ideas on this please, it might be some hard work for the Devs but i wouldnt expect them to have this done soon after RoK is released maybe a few months after when people are actually lvl 80...if they and others like the idea that is

They were just called something different from L55 on. Like, I believe, all SKs become Revenants at L55. Still the same class and abilities and spells - just different names.

I think it even started at lvl51

51 was Blackguard

55 was Rake

60 was something

65 was Assassin

(all for the rogue)

They already did away with subclasses once, I don't see them bringing them back. It's a shame, cause I like that aspect of the game, but apparently, many did not. I was just thinking today that I missed the class specific quest for advancing along your chosen path. Oh well. Who know.

If anything, they'll develop the AA lines to bring some type of subclass system to the game. For swashy's we already have Blackguards, Pirates, Mercenaries, Fencers and Thieves... I'm sure you come up with a 3rd AA tree that expands those subclasses.

It's definately a good idea though... IF... and ONLY if... they make each thread viable, unlike the AA lines now where every swashy I know is STR/WIS or AGL/WIS or in some small cases... STR/AGL. NO ONE I know (or even heard of) went down the STA or INT lines... they're useless.

You'd really need to balance the lines... for instance, Blackguards would focus on crits and debuffing mobs timers. Pirates would focus on back attacks and speeding up their own timers. Mercenaries would focus on DEF and taunts. WIS would focus on double attack and parry. INT would focus in on um... lame stuff. =)

It could be a specialty of a specialty. As long as they balance out the subclasses, it might work... but someone will still find that special "sweet" spot of abilities and AA specialties that every swashy will want to take to maximize dps. =(
