Hello. New to EQ2 here.

First of all, the frustration of having to download 7 GiGs of data for a Trial of the Isle, then to learn that after buying the full version it won't just update my account but I have to download the whole 7 GiG EQ2 client install file. So install it, and now after a full file scan it is downloading the WHOLE thing yet again. Why??

This is so frustrating. Can anybody please tell me if this is a bug or if there is a way to avoid this in the future? Thanks.

Its cause the "trial" version and the "real" version is installed in differents folders. So if you had copy the folder "paks" from your "trial" folder to your "real" which contains all the zonefiles, you wouldn´t have to download it again.

And when you install game from cd, all those 7gig of zonefiles you just downloaded is replaced with the old files on the cd.

So a tip when you have to reinstall the game, first copy that /everquest2/paks folder, uninstall game, reinstall and copy back the "paks" folder, Saves alot of downloading

No need to install the game again from the disc. Just enter your cd key into your account and log in, it will download the stuff that wasn't in the trial.

So much easier than needing to DL again from scratch.

Entered the keys from my copy of EoF (Direct2drive so had no CDs) after using the trial and it said when I went to log in, AFTER upgrading to a full account, something like "This trial offer has expired, please install the full version." or something like that. It would NOT let me log in and get the extra files I needed. I had to redownload the client again from D2D.
