View Full Version : Guild Alignment: Freeport or Nothing?

Pardon my newbie question, but this is a newbie forum. I'm a lvl 19 warlock on Blackburrow server, Qeynos aligned, and I am starting to do some research on guilds. On the web site looking for guilds there are freeport alligned guilds and there are non-aligned guilds (I call them non-aligned because they seem to have people from both sides and also the 'alignment' column is blank). Am I misinterpreting something? Why aren't there any Qeynos aligned guilds?

Thank you, though I noticed that. The thing is though there are also 'freeport' alignments specifically listed, several pages of them, and several pages of blank alignments. There is not even 1 qeynos alignment, however.

It's a non-issue.. the alignment of a guild on PVE servers doesn't matter. Don't concern yourself with it, it has no effect.

To the OP:

I have no idea why there are Freeport aligned guilds listed. I checked a couple on my server that were listed as Freeport aligned and several of them had Qeynosians in the guild. I assume it is some bug with the EQ2 players site.

As far as I know guilds on normal servers don't have specific city alignment at all. You 'could' form a guild of people all from one city, however there would be no restrictions other than self-imposed ones to inviting folks from any of the other cities.

Pretty much only on PVP is there alignment for guilds (possibly on the RP servers as well, I seem to remember there being restrictions there sometime back).

Currently it has no effects. Why it is like that may be tracked back to launch. At launch there was a larger gap between Freeport and Qeynos (mail, friendlist, etc.. didn't go across the alignments).

Thank you folks for replying. I was afraid that if I joined some guild they'd all be hanging around near freeport and the commonlands etc and I wouldn't be able to get to the guild hall and stuff because the city guards would hunt me down.

RP servers don't have anything different at all in the ruleset btw, the only thing that separates them from a normal PvE server is that it says (RP Preferred) next to their names on the server select.

Though there are few places that you couldn't sneak to if you use the sewers and proceed carefully.
